The Research Assistant will support CRS analysts in their objective, nonpartisan public policy analysis for and consultation with congressional clients. 

The duties of the Research Assistant include:

• Supporting the work of analysts preparing analytical and descriptive written products that inform congressional understanding of public policy issues and consideration of policy proposals.
• Participating in group efforts on research projects as a member of a collaborative team and undertaking research and data analytical tasks in support of the development of an array of analytical and descriptive products or components.

Work Schedule: Full-time (Without Compensation)

• Oversees attorneys providing legal advice and assistance to OPC investigators, reviewing investigative work-product, and preparing reports of investigation and recommendations, including for disciplinary action.
• Provides overall guidance and technical oversight of legal activity, including reviewing reports of investigations, and ensuring work produced by staff is accurate, complete, and defensible. Develops and/or edits high-level written reports and legal documents, as well as related communication for program planning and/or organizational improvements. Oversees feedback to both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the exercise of tact, diplomacy, and utilization of extensive legal experience.
• Develops, recommends, implements and communicates new and modified OPC policies and procedures. Partners with other managers and executives in the OPC to ensure policies and procedures align with investigative and legal processes and procedures. • Plans, directs, and implements FDIC-wide training relevant to OPC programs, including anti-harassment and anti-retaliation. This Master Transportation Security Officer- Security Training Instructor position is located at Dallas Love Field (DAL), Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Master Transportation Security Officer (MTSO), you will support the airport training program through performance of a variety of training-related functions. In addition to training program responsibilities, you will also perform pre-board security screening of persons, cargo, carry-on, and checked baggage as directed by the Federal Security Director (FSD), or his/her designee, a minimum of 20% of the time. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Performing training instruction within established guidelines and standards in support of nationally developed training programs (e.g., new hire training, On-Screen Alarm Resolution Protocol, Crossover); supporting recurrent training needs, and conducting return to duty and remediation training.
• Adapting/developing local training materials to meet requirements; conducting local training in accordance with training standards; assisting with the training department administrative support (e.g., Online Learning Center (OLC) entry, training resource room facilitation, roster management, conducting testing, and ensuring evaluations are done); assisting with training logistics support components (e.g., coordinating needed supplies and materials); managing classroom dynamics; resolving routine classroom problems; monitoring and evaluating training and providing feedback on needed adjustments; recommending enhancements; and maintaining communication with management and supervisors concerning issues with training that may reveal security-screening weaknesses or vulnerabilities.
