The position serves as the Lead Advanced Medical Support Assistant in the VA New England VISN 1 VA Medical Center. S/He uses initiative in completing recurring assignments independently and without specific instructions, but refers deviations, problems and unfamiliar situations to the supervisor for assistance. Duties include but not limited to:

• Provides educational sessions to train new employees in clerical process in an efficient and effective manner to ensure that clerical processes, functions and goals are understood and met.

Duties
This position is located in the Green Bay CBOC, WI in Supply Chain Management Division. The Materials performs warehouse work that involves receiving, storing, selecting, and shipping general or specialized bulk and bin materials and equipment. The Advanced Scheduling Clerk was established as a part of the national initiative, Community Care Coordination, in which all facilities are now directed to coordinate all non -VA medical care appointments for the Veteran. The Advance Scheduling clerk performs a variety of administrative tasks associated with maintaining and supporting the work performed in the Community Care unit.

The Advanced Medical Support Assistant duties consist of but are not limited to the following:

• Assists Veterans with scheduling appointments with clinical providers.
