Provide essential support and empower young people aged 16-21 to live independently, safely, and happily within the community.

THE ROLE
As a Support Worker, you will work within a dynamic team, acting as a keyworker to young people, delivering tailored support packages. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting initial assessments, safety planning, and action plans with young people.
• Supporting young people with essential living skills, including budgeting, cooking, and attending appointments.
• Managing housing and property tasks, including maintaining property standards and ensuring voids are minimized.
• Promoting engagement with education, training, or employment opportunities.
• Addressing challenging behaviors calmly and professionally, adhering to safeguarding protocols.
• Liaising with external agencies to provide holistic support to service users.
• Ensuring compliance with tenancy agreements and taking necessary action for non-engagement.

THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, supporting young people with diverse needs. Essential skills and experience include:

• Knowledge of housing management, safeguarding, and support planning.
• Ability to engage and inspire difficult-to-reach young people.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including de-escalation techniques.
• Experience coordinating with external agencies to deliver support packages.
• Competence in conducting routine health and safety and property maintenance checks.

THE CONTRACT

• 35 hours per week:
  • Week 1: Tuesday - Friday
  • Week 2: Monday - Thursday
  • Week 3: Thursday - Sunday
• 3-month contract with potential extension.
• The pay for the role is £16.57 per hour LTD. The PAYE equivalent is £14.13 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.

Medical Technologist (Ancillary Testing Coordinator), GS-12

Duties include but are not limited to the following description:

The incumbent is a qualified, experienced Medical Technologist who serves as the Ancillary Testing Coordinator for the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service. Ancillary testing is defined as laboratory testing or services within a VA Medical Center or its outreach functions at CBOCs that is performed outside the physical facilities of the main clinical laboratory. The incumbent develops and recommends policies and procedures for the procurement and service requirements for ancillary testing, including ensuring CLIA licenses are maintained in all sites. The incumbent serves as the technical advisor to all ancillary testing sites. The incumbent maintains adequate skills to work in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Phlebotomy, Microbiology and logging in surgical/cytology specimens. Incumbent also supports the laboratory manager and serves as acting supervisor.

Functions include but are not limited to the following description:

• The ATC consults with the laboratory Director of clinical services to identify ancillary testing needs and to analyze emerging trends and technology and adopts appropriate methods, serving as a recognized technical expert to provide authoritative advice, training, troubleshooting, quality assessment and ancillary testing program consultation.
• The ATC develops technical bulletins, procedures, training materials and other program materials, ensuring accreditation and compliance with all regulatory agencies for patient testing, result reporting and proficiency testing including reports, monitors and continuous performance improvement initiatives.
• Acts as the technical supervisor for quality control, records control, proficiency testing, inspection and accreditation for ancillary testing on a hospital-wide basis and oversees the safe and accurate testing of outreach function patients in the clinic.
• Assesses data needed, designs data collection procedures, identifies quality assurance monitors and indicators, and reviews all data analyzed with the laboratory Director.
• Knowledge of the types of surveillance, ability to collect data necessary to monitor variables that affect quality of services, and skill in evaluation, interpreting and teaching others to use quality control procedures and implementing corrective actions.
• Knowledge of Federal, VHA and state laws, regulations, reference standards and medico legal responsibilities, and certifying and accrediting agency requirements in order to carry out the work in each ancillary testing site.
• Performs statistical analysis (variations, standard deviation, trend analysis) on quality control and quality assurance data collected to identify, document, and takes corrective action when needed.
• Serves as a member of the Ancillary Testing Committee. Implements and monitors protocols established in M-2, part VI, chapter 10, "Ancillary Testing", for quality control, quality assurance, proficiency testing, linearity, equipment maintenance, and user competency for all testing.
• Knowledge of laboratory information technology systems and inter-connectivity.
• Ensures that current mandatory hours of continuing education, training modules and additional education hours required by the facility are completed.
• In addition to assisting laboratory manager on various tasks, serves as first line acting supervisor.

• Observes, documents, and evaluates carrier and contractor performance. Inspects contractor's performance at owner's residence and at warehouse during packing, crating, loading, shipping, unloading, uncrating and unpacking.
• Counsels members regarding policies and procedures for the proper preparation of personal property for shipment and/or storage, including specialized items, to domestic and overseas locations.
• Prepares documentation reporting carrier performance using automated systems. Observes, documents, and evaluates performance of contractor on packing, containerization, and local drayage of personal property.
• Provides oversight of the Direct Procurement Method (DPM) contract. Serves as a Quality Assurance Evaluator (QAE), functionally qualified to ensure the Air Force receives quality contractor performed services and pays only for acceptable services received.

• Executes the demand planning program for a complex portfolio of weapons systems and/or component piece parts.
• Evaluates and synthesizes analysis provided to resolve difficult demand planning issues involving processes, work methods, supply data management, and day-to-day operational procedures for assigned secondary items.
• Develops options to allow for differing or conflicting program requirements that cover multiple supply objectives including inventory management for assigned commodities.
• Supports supply chain management integration across the IPS Elements to optimize repair parts (Class II and IX) for system suitability, affordability, reliability, availability, maintainability.
• Provides demand planning, forecasting program, and process interpretations and recommendations to management officials and other supply specialists at the same and lower levels of the organization.
• Validates higher headquarters planning at the National Item Identification Number (NIIN) level, program level planning assumptions, return and demand history, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) requirements.
• Provides direct support to the Supply Planner regarding validation and correction of independent demand forecasts and generates forecast(s) reflecting all known planning assumptions to support monthly analysis and reporting operations.
• Monitors the status and effectiveness of material support provided as a result of forecasting techniques by identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems.
• Uses Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to review demand history, apply demand plan adjustments, and generate forecasts.
• Coordinates with various stakeholders such as the weapon system team and the systems analysts to maintain complete and correct demand material master coding in the ERP system by submitting change requests to the material master cell.

• The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.

• Responsible for all real property assets, and the assignment and utilization of space on U.S. Army Natick Soldier Systems Center (NSSC).
• Participates in aspects of real property lifecycle as it relates to acquisition, utilization, transfer, disposal, and management of Army installation real property.
• Studies appraisal reports, tract maps, and other information on file to become thoroughly familiar with property, ownership, and other conditions.
• Coordinates with the Corps of Engineers for the preparation of all real estate planning studies and design memoranda to establish the Installation's recommendations.

This position is located in a Federal Bureau of Prisons federal correctional facility, in the Special Investigative Services Office.

Serves as an assistant to the Special Investigative Agent (SIA)/Special Investigative Supervisor (SIS) and is responsible for providing assistance during investigations, developing reports, preparing correspondence, maintaining evidence, and computer support.

Assists the SIA/SIS in conducting investigations of inmate violations of BOP prohibited acts of various severity levels, such as assaults, introduction of contraband or narcotics, possession of money or currency, communicating gang affiliation and/or participating in gang activities, and other prohibited activities. Investigations can range in length from several hours to weeks or months depending on severity.

Along with all other correctional institution employees, the Special Investigative Services Technician is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.

1. Serves as the technical transportation advisor to all statewide operating officials on all matters dealing with commercial movement of personnel and equipment. Analyzes and advises on transportation considerations relative to the domestic and international movement of equipment, supplies, and personnel via all commercial transportation modes. Assist in the development of, maintains, and exercises the commercial traffic functions of mobilization plans, as well as training programs for managers and mobilization augmentees on related transportation subjects. Provides input to the Defense Movement Coordinator (DMC), as required, with the preparation of the commercial transportation portions of the Automated Unit Equipment List (AUEL). Analyzes traffic data and characteristics to determine areas of potential improvement and makes recommends for changes to the Traffic Manager; identifies economic and efficient uses of transportation; and projects mission transportation requirements. Obligates and executes funding for the commercial transportation mission. (25%)

2. Ensures that traffic management and transportation services required to support the mission are accomplished. This includes services incident to receiving, processing, and dispatching commodity and passenger traffic; to include demurrage charges, drayage and other accessorial services not directly related to line-haul movements. Insures the preparation of Transportation Discrepancy Reports (TDR) and other documents in support of government claims against carriers for freight loss and damage or failure to provide contracted services. Reconciles Commercial Bills of Lading to verify receipt and shipment of equipment and supplies. Makes recommendations for changes in local policies and procedures to support the economical movement of contractually procured materials from vendors. Interprets and enforces Federal, State, and local regulations concerning the movement of hazardous materials and general commodities through various modes of carriage. Monitors and ensures proper handling, packaging, and shipping of arms, ammunition and explosives (AA&E), Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI), and classified/sensitive items. Safeguards accountable transportation documents, which may include: Government Bills of Lading, Government Transportation Requests, and Uniform Service Meal Tickets. (25%)

3. Inspects, or provides for inspection of, commercial carrier terminals to locate and expedite delivery of astray government shipments. Ensures carrier capability complies with government requirements and specifications. Manages the Carrier Performance Program for the state and provides input to the Traffic Manager for the overall program. (15%)

4. Procures domestic and international travel for both military and civilian passengers. Reviews the travel arrangements provided by the Travel Services Contractor ensuring that special fares and/or discounts are utilized when feasible. Ensures advance procurement of transportation services to achieve greatest overall cost efficiency and oversees the audit of the Travel Services Contractor for application of appropriate discounts for official travel. Monitors the approved Travel Agent for official travel for quality assurance as an Assistant Contract Officer Representative (ACOR). Advises travelers on entitlements and responsibilities and manages the processing of refunds for unused commercial tickets into the government accounting system. Ensures all travel requests are accompanied by approved travel orders and reconciles billing of requested travel services. Reconciles and validates the monthly billing for commercial air travel Centrally Billed Account (CBA) and submits it for payment. (15%)

5. Maintains all transportation related automated systems and databases to support the Traffic Management Programs for the State. (10%)

6. Accomplishes the full spectrum of support for state and Federal National Guard operations, training, readiness missions, natural disasters, and Homeland Defense/Defense Support of Civil Authorities (HLD/DSCA). (10%)
