The Consolidated Textile Processing Plant processes linens, patient clothing, uniforms and specialty items (operating room linens, bed pads, mops, restraints, bedspreads, etc.) for ten (10) medical centers: Brockton, West Roxbury, Boston, Bedford, Northampton, Providence RI, Manchester NH, West Haven/Newington CT, Togus ME and White River Junction VT. The organization also provides linen services to seven (7) outpatient clinics and maintains two linen service contracts with private industry. This organization processes approximately 7,920,000 pounds of laundry per year.

The major duties of the position include but are not limited to:

• Utilizes knowledge of laundry plant policies, procedures, facilities and operations associated with medical center laundry functions that cover a major region in order to plan and carry out the operations and scheduling requirements of the laundry plant to meet customer requirements and delivery times;
• Supervises a wage grade workforce through subordinate supervisors/leaders by following personnel management policies and procedures, union contracts, special emphasis programs, etc.;
• Analyzes and evaluates effectiveness of laundry operations and recommends changes;
• Communicates effectively orally and in writing with a wide variety of personnel and multiple installations;

The Advanced Practice Nurse position is located in Mental Health service at the Bedford campus. This position is full time at 40 hours per week.

The incumbent practices in Mental Health (MH) Service as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide a full range of services emphasizing quality, timeliness, and the advancement of the VA mission. The PMHNP provides advanced clinical practice, consultation, and management.

The Health System Specialist supports the Director's Office by coordinating and directing a limited range of operational matters dealing with planning, congressional issues, Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs), the media, and overseeing and coordinating service networks initiatives with central offices. The Inpatient Mental Health (MH) Registered Nurse (RN) executes their position duties to improve patient and organizational outcomes by providing patient-centered and recovery-oriented care, maintaining self-awareness while caring for patients living with MH conditions, and managing the milieu. What will I do in this position if hired?

In this Grants Management Specialist position, you will be responsible for financial management of BRIC grants. You will be performing final review of completed grant or cooperative agreements/awards and making appropriate adjustments. You will be performing post award management, including process grant closeout, monitoring and audits requirements.

Typical assignments include:

• Review grant application with respect to grants administration requirements; this includes review of the SF424 Application for Federal Assistance and required assurances, Management Costs and processing through FEMA GO
• Provide consultation to program partners and recipients with regard to the requirements of 2 CFR 200 and FEMA Grants Management Policy Manual (GMPM)
• Tracking quarterly expenditures of grants funds
• Financially monitoring recipient (state and tribe) grants management procedures
• Finalizing reconciliation and closeout of grant awards for BRIC program
• Serve as BRIC (Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities) liaison to grantees and within FEMA.

Review quarterly and final performance reports and note areas of risk. Document analysis per GMPM requirements.
• Conduct financial system cross checks to verify accuracy of Final Federal Financial Report; ensure match has been met and there are no additional cash or cost adjustments necessary; document review of final financial report and system review in closeout workbook.
• Manage period of performance for grants including extension requests.
• Perform financial monitoring on selected recipients (state and tribe), remotely and through site visits to evaluate grants management procedures

They can be hired under a streamlined process instead of a competitive process. (1) Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, and equipment, such as measuring devices and materials, in an industrial establishment. Unpacks and stores new equipment. Selects and sets up specific storage locations according to such factors as use, size, shape, and nomenclature of items. Identifies and selects items for issue that are requested by users in trade or shop terms. Keeps records of tools issued to individual workers or shops. (2) Determines stock replenishment levels for centrally controlled items, supplies, and other material using established guides and formulas within funding limitations. (3) Prepares requisitions for procurement of material and supplies. Reviews requisitions for completeness and compliance with regulations, revises quantities ordered based on number on hand. Recommends substitution when supply items are not available. Verifies material received against requisitions, shipping notices, or invoices to determine irregularities in orders. Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications and rejects defective articles. Reports incoming shipments of stock that are over, short, or damaged. Ensures that received items are properly stored in assigned locations.

(4) Searches for identifying or management data on items of supply. Compares data listed on documents with reference sources such as federal catalogs, stock lists, or other publications. Receives requests desiring additional identification data, verification, or comparison of data on hand with reference sources. Searches for stock number, prices, descriptions, sources of supply, or other management data. When unknown, traces part number, or type number, and manufacturer of the item of equipment.

(5) Edits supply transactions, or provides customer service for urgent critical shortage items, and other items requiring special handling, when established procedures are not applicable. Codes and classifies requisitions, shipping orders, and other documents. Extracts requests to other sources of supply, or refers them to the inventory control point when stock is unavailable or cannot be shipped.

(6) May assist a journey level Automotive Mechanic and/or a journey level Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic by performing the simpler and more routine helper type duties. May engage in joint operations with a journey level employee as instructed by assisting in the accomplishment of his or her duties by getting tools and supplies, carrying materials, and lifting and holding materials in place during operations. As directed by the journey level employee, uses hand and powered tools of the trade to assist in the disassembly, assembly, and installation of simple component parts and units. Applies knowledge gained from previous work assignments. Receives detailed instructions from the journey level employee with each new assignment. Serves to assist the journey level employee as a helper in all phases of the journey level Automotive Mechanic and/or journey level Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic duties.
