This advertisement is for Science Lab Assistant.
If successfully selected, candidate will be deployed in local MOE schools.

Contract Period: 25 March 2024 to 24 March 2025.

Working Hours:
- Mondays to Fridays: 7:30am to 1:30pm.
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
- Personnel will not be required to do overtime.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1) Assisting teachers in Science labs / classroom
- Prepare materials before science lessons for P3 to P6
- Preparation of materials for practical tests
- Assisting teachers in the labs during Science lessons
2) Assist in the upkeep of equipment in Science Lab
- Assisting Teacher IC with:
- recording of loaning/breakage materials
- annual stocking taking of materials in the science lab
- Checking and clearing of unwanted or discard of faulty materials
- Maintenances of equipment by checking the workability of the equipment
- Liaising with vendors to ensure maintenance and checks on equipment are carried out
3) Maintenance of science lab.
- Maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of the labs
- Changing of new displays in the display cabinets
- To disinfect Science Labs rooms as and when required
4) Any other administrative work related to maintenance and upkeep of Science Labs.
5) Assists General Officewith general administrative duties.
- Provide administrative support at General Office
- Provide customer service at the reception counter – attend to visitors including parents, staff, pupils and vendors.
- Answer phone calls within three rings, record phone messages and attend to walk-in enquiries
- Make phone calls e.g. helping sick pupils to call parents
- Attend to goods delivery and direct them to the appropriate locations
- Escort contractors
- Assist in logistics matters for e.g. packing of items, preparation of rooms for school functions; etc
- Shredding of documents
- To perform gate duties during school arrival and dismissal time and during time of heavy traffic
- Preparation and verification of documents, maintaining and updating of data records, filing and typing and data entry
- Accompany pupils and teachers on Learning Journeys as and when required
- Any other duties assigned by Principal, Vice-Principal and HOD/Science deemed necessary for a Science Lab Assistant
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Applicant should have a minimum Diploma from a recognised institution. (Qualification in Science related areas would be beneficial)
- The Applicant should demonstrate knowledge and skills in handling common Lab equipment found in school labs. (eg. Microscope, dataloggers, etc.)
- The Applicant preferably have a minimum 3 years relevant experience in a MOE School, either in similar role or similar context.
