As a General Engineer/Physical Scientist (Deputy Assistant Deputy Administrator of the Office of Experimental Sciences) you will:

• Assist in directing NA-113 staff, providing both technical and administrative direction. Assist with the planning and management of office activities and provides overall direction to the selection, utilization, and development of assigned personnel and the resolution of work-related issues.
• Serve as the Deputy Assistant Deputy Administrator responsible for applying a high level of technical expertise to assist with identifying, overseeing, and resolving complex engineering, scientific and technological issues associated with the NNSA's science-based Stockpile Stewardship Programs.
• Guide the development, planning and execution of experiments and pioneering new concepts to provide advanced diagnostic, assessment, technology, computing, and certification capabilities that support the long-term needs of the science-based Stockpile Stewardship Program (SSP).
• Coordinate with Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) for directing strategic planning related to program capability and technology modernization initiatives.

• Oversees attorneys providing legal advice and assistance to proposing and deciding officials on discipline, non-discipline, or other corrective actions arising from administrative investigations.
• Manages the work of litigating attorneys representing the FDIC and practicing before administrative and judicial forums, including the Merit Systems Protection Board. Oversees the work performed by those attorneys, including litigation briefs, memoranda of law, pre-trial discovery, analysis of evidence and other legal activities and documents related to sensitive litigation issues, including those involving questions of first impression and with conflicting precedent that require extensive research, analysis and/or ingenuity to resolve.
• Represents the FDIC in litigation efforts and/or provides oversight, review, and strategic direction for the negotiation of the highly complex agreements and settlements. Tracks, researches, and monitors decisions to ensure consistent application of adverse activity and highlights anomalies for additional review.
• Advises and briefs the OPC leadership and the FDIC Board of Directors on highly complex and sensitive personnel, disciplinary, and litigation cases. Conducts presentations, briefings, case updates, and/or reports to leadership and/or the Board of Directors. Maintains lines of communication between the Office of General Counsel, Office of the Inspector General (OIG) and the OPC.

As a Program Analyst, you will:

• Provide authoritative guidance on interpretation of requirements and policies,establishment of priorities and schedules, negotiation of data exchanges and standardization, evaluation of alternative approaches or significant modifications, and initiation of new or corrective actions across organizational lines as a recognized expert.
• Provide comprehensive background and programmatic information to support the Office of Management and Budget formulation and execution activities, requests/briefings, President's budget request/briefings, inquiries, questions and answers, and budget summits.
• Develop long-range budget estimates for programs in close coordination with site offices, site subject matter experts, and site budget analysts in accordance with annual budget guidance and schedules supporting the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Evaluation process.

The Deputy Chief of the Litigation Unit is primarily responsible for directing, and supervising the Unit's attorneys, and two Assistant Deputy Chiefs. The Deputy Chief for Litigation also works with the supervisory paralegal specialist to coordinate the work of the paralegals, and oversees all of the litigation functions of the Section, including:

• Assignment and monitoring of workloads;
• Writing annual performance appraisals and other employee relations related matters;
• Coordinating the preparation of weekly and other periodic reports regarding the Unit's significant cases;
• Supervision of the Unit's statistical reporting to the Criminal Division and Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF);
• Ensuring that the Department's litigation-related policies and practices are adhered to by the Unit's attorneys;
• Coordinating the professional development, training, and mentoring of the Unit's attorneys;
• Coordinating and interacting with management from federal and international law enforcement agencies with whom Litigation Unit attorneys work;
• Representing the Section at international coordination meetings and at national and international narcotics-related conferences and training seminars; and
• Serving as the Section's liaison to the OCDETF at its periodic Regional and National conferences.

Engages in proactive threat discovery through research and analysis of security-related material in order to maintain situational awareness of adverse information, and to identify threat content against Senators, their families, staff, and associated locations. Reports on security risks/concerns/persons of interest involving possible or actual threats to Senate Members, staff, the Capitol, and/or offices, and provides regular updates and applicable advice regarding these incidents. Implements outreach efforts, security assessment initiatives, and law enforcement coordination to ensure Senators and their Chiefs of Staff receive the necessary guidance, tools, and support when planning and attending public events as well as conducting outside travel. Reviews publicly available information and conducts open-source research to identify trends, patterns, and relationships that provide insights into threat and security issues. As a Management & Program Analyst (Disaster Recovery) (Public Notice Flyer), you will:

Disaster Recovery Program and Policy Management:

• Provide program and analytical support to EDA's Division of Economic Development Integration and Disaster Recovery (EDI-DR).
• Prepare Economic Recovery Support Function (ERSF) and other disaster-related training materials for EDA and other federal staff for approval.
• Review ERSF mission assignment deliverables and lessons learned to facilitate continuous improvement.
• Research and documents disaster recovery and resilience best practices to inform EDA resilience strategies and activities.
• With oversight by the supervisor, develop and maintain EDA disaster recovery reporting products, dashboards, presentations and talking points, as needed, for DOC and EDA leadership. Analyze management information requirements to develop or operate program or administrative reporting systems.
• Develop and recommend reporting approaches that better meet higher level management information needs, identifying the data required for use in the management and direction of programs.

• Serve as the Contract Officer Representative (COR) to facilitate EDA's utilization of contractors for Disaster Recovery Missions by coordinating and providing contracting packages, such as Statement of Work (SOWs), Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs), Sole Source Justifications (SSJs), and contracting documentation acquisition office.
• Assist the Contracting Officer in the pre-award and post-award phases of procurement processes, including preparing solicitations and evaluating contract proposals in keeping with the terms and conditions of EDA's Disaster Recovery Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA).
• Provide technical direction to contract in accordance with the contract terms. This may involve clarying technical requirements, reviewing proposed changes, and assisting contractors in understanding complex contract elements.
• Maintain accurate and complete records, including inspection reports, meeting minutes, and communication logs, to document contractor performance. These records are used to provide feedback to the contracting officer and may serve as evidence during contract disputes or performance evaluations.

As a Student Trainee (Electrical Engineering), you will:

• Perform a variety of tests in accordance with established methods. Adjusts and operates test equipment of proven reliability. Applies standardized test procedures. Records instrument readings. Determines whether the test data fall within normal limits. Determines the apparent causes of deviations in the test data resulting from equipment malfunctions, observational errors, and other causes.
• Analyze and present data in accordance with established methods. Extracts data from a variety of prescribed but non-standardized sources. Recognizes errors which are readily apparent (e.g., misplaced decimal points and reversal of algebraic sign) but which require a limited knowledge of the subject matter. Processes the data according to well-defined methods and designated formulas using elementary algebra and geometry in addition to arithmetic.
