Job Description

Provide support to learners and teachers by undertaking a range of non-teaching duties, including classroom administration and practical tasks such as contributing to the preparation of teaching materials in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the key objectives in relation to those identified within the Education Service Plan and the Community Plan.

Requirements

The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Council. Responsibilities

This is a temporary part time, term time post based within Patna Supported Learning Centre, Patna Primary School, Patna. The hours of work for this post will be 23.5 hours per week; Monday – Wednesday 11am - 3pm and Thursday - Friday 9am - 3pm and to be worked at the direction of the Line Manager.

Previous experience of working with children with Additional Support Needs would be advantageous for these posts.

The full time salary for this post is between £24,333 – £25,353 per annum.

The actual term time, part time salary for this post is between £14,013 - £14,600 per annum.

This is a temporary post up until 20th June 2025.

The role incorporates, lesson planning, teaching, break and lunchtime support, personal care, supporting off site trips, assistance with pupil's therapy sessions, behaviour management and much more! They are presently seeking a skilled SEN Support Specialist - Level 1-2 to become part of their dynamic team in Darwen.

The Position

As a Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibility is to assist students in their learning journey and overall well-being, ensuring they have the best opportunities to flourish in a nurturing and secure setting. Your duties may encompass providing care support when necessary and implementing positive behaviour management strategies tailored to each student.

Building strong, supportive relationships with students is crucial to creating a safe and enjoyable learning environment. You'll also collaborate with teachers to deliver engaging and differentiated educational activities, fostering students' holistic development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in planning and evaluating learning activities.
