HULL UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITALS

The Neurosciences Care Group is looking for an outstanding individual to join the nursing leadership team and to work in our Neurosurgery High Observation Unit at Hull Royal Infirmary.

The Neurosurgery unit provides a wide range of specialist procedures both spinal and cranial involving multiple specialities to Hull and East Yorkshire and the surrounding areas.

We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated and dynamic nurse with excellent clinical nursing and decision making skills, allowing them to deliver a high quality service to patients.

The successful candidates will be responsible for supporting the Charge Nurse and work with the Nursing team in providing direct high quality patient care. It is expected that the junior sister will deputise in the absence of the Charge Nurse and ensure a positive patient experience through the delivery of high standards of patient care ensuring the right care in the right place at the right time.

We would welcome previous experience in Neurosurgery to apply for this post, you will have a passion and willingness to learn new skills to specialize in this field. You will be supported by the experienced Neurosurgical team to develop clinical and managerial with a full training package.

The hours of work will include days, nights, weekend and bank holiday cover on a rotational basis.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working on multi-discipline rail projects and station upgrades.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Planning and programming of the works
• Monitoring and implementing the financial controls and cost reports
• Management and monitoring of Sub Agents, Section Engineers and the works team
• Liaise and chair client/project meetings
• Oversee daily administration, quality, audits, permits and records
• Implementation of company procedures and protocols
• Compilation of Method statements and risk assessments
• Interpreting and implementing of the design
• Health and Safety compliance

Candidate Requirements:

• Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent
• Proven experience at Agent level
• Proven experience working for a tier 1 on a large infrastructure project
• Rail background
• CITB Temporary Works Coordinator
• CSCS/PTS

Role Overview

As an Assistant Site Manager, you will support the Site Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations on residential construction sites. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, a commitment to safety, and a passion for delivering quality homes. You'll work closely with tradespeople, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the high standards our customers expect.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in Site Management: Support the Site Manager in the day-to-day coordination of the site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all activities on site adhere to company health and safety policies, conducting regular checks and encouraging best practices.
• Quality Control: Monitor construction quality, inspecting completed work to ensure it meets design specifications and customer expectations.
• Coordination of Trades and Subcontractors: Assist in scheduling and supervising tradespeople and subcontractors, resolving issues that arise on-site to keep the project on track.
• Progress Reporting: Prepare daily reports on site progress, communicate updates to the Site Manager, and participate in project meetings.
• Customer Care: Work with the customer service team to handle any issues or queries from homeowners after completion, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: Prior experience in a construction-related role, preferably in residential or new-build projects.
• Certifications: Valid CSCS card, SMSTS or SSSTS certification, and knowledge of current H&S regulations.
• Skills: Strong organisational skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with the wider team.
• Driving License: A full, valid UK driving licence is required.
