This is a great opportunity for a Housing Management worker to join our team here in the Older Persons Service. As our Housing and Property Guru, you’ll support our customers, ensuring their homes are safe and well maintained. Providing a housing management service, you’ll support them to manage and maintain their tenancy and rent accounts.

Typical day as a Housing Management Worker

• Working with customers in sheltered Accommodation to maximise their independance by undertaking daily welfare calls.


• Making sure that our customers properties are homes they can be proud of, you’ll support your customers by engaging and involving them in their tenancies.


• Help our customers with housing benefit claims, making sure that these are received on their rent account.


• To support the next customers who needs our help and for maximum occupancy, you’ll turn around vacant or void properties within set timescales.


• You’ll carry out and record the routine safety and compliance checks in our buildings and communities making sure we’re compliant.


• You’ll also manage the admin updating records, ordering, and arranging payment for works to be done

You bring

• A background in property management, but that’s not a deal breaker! Perhaps you’ve worked in an environment with compliance and health and safety checks?


• A “can do” positive attitude, you’re proactive and well organised, and able to work on your initiative.

• The ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.

• Working 16 hpw Mon- Fri


• Based at our service in South Hetton, you will predominately work form this location, however there will be occasions where travelling will be required to undertake Home visits and support at another scheme


• Able to use technology for creating and updating customer records, making benefit claims and doing tenancy signs ups,


• To get from A to B, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!


• You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.

Set up by a former foster parent and former social worker in 1994, Foster Care Associates (FCA) is an established fostering agency which forms part of the Polaris Community - one of the UK's largest leading communities of children's service providers.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As a Referrals Officer, you will manage referrals received from Local Authorities and use key information and matching criteria to ensure that placements are carefully matched according to children's needs. You will have the ability to work independently and able to use your initiative to find creative solutions to foster placement requests.

The Referrals officer role is the first point of contact between Local Authorities, foster families and Social Workers. You will be able develop positive relationships with colleagues and be confident communicating with professionals at all levels. It would be beneficial to have experience of working within the children's services sector or similar and be able to evidence your administration skills, ability to follow regulatory policies and processes and the ability to work well within a fast paced team. Full training will be provided.

We want to give children across the country who have had a difficult start in life, the support they need to build themselves a stronger and happier future. For our Foster carers, we provide a close network of support that becomes like a second family.
