We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Team Lead Stroke Specialist Physiotherapist to join our Integrated Stroke Therapy Service. The role will be working as part of the Community Stroke Team based across Daisyfield Mill and Pendle Community Hospital covering the Pennine Lancashire Area.

The job focus will be to clinically lead the Physiotherapy team in collaboration with our current band 7 PT. You will work closely with the wider MDT providing highly specialist advanced assessment and treatment of patients with complex stroke rehabilitation needs on the stroke pathway. You will be a HCPC registered therapist with sound knowledge and experience of stroke.

As the clinical lead, you will plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate the physiotherapy community stroke service in partnership with the other clinical leads and the operational manager.

We have an experienced leadership team working in the community service therefore you will have a strong support system in place for anyone new into a band 7 role.

Flexibility in working patterns will be required to meet the needs of the service along with access to a vehicle is essential to commute between sites. The role will also include working as part of the weekend working rota across the stroke therapy pathway.

The role will require you to undertake advanced stroke physiotherapy assessment and rehabilitation with patients, allocated to your caseload, along with providing close supervision to junior staff in your team.

As part of the community stroke rehabilitation service, you will work closely with the wider MDT to set collaborative rehabilitation goals and treatment programmes to support timely discharge into the community. As such you will be expected to build close links with our inpatient stroke therapy staff to support a seamless early discharge into the community setting supporting acute patient flow.

You will be responsible for the day to day running of the physiotherapy team which will include both clinical and operational management responsibilities.

The suitable candidate will have a broad understanding of the stroke rehabilitation pathway from admission through to the community setting and have post graduate stroke or neuro rehabilitation experience and wishing to specialise in this clinical field.

The Integrated Stroke Therapy Team is a SSNAP ‘A’ rated service which provides specialist stroke services to adults within the acute & rehabilitation setting at both Royal Blackburn Hospital and Pendle Community Hospital. While the East Lancashire Community Stroke Service provides rehabilitation to patients within a range of settings including outpatient departments, patients’ homes, and care home settings across Pennine Lancashire.

The integrated therapy team consists of a whole MDT team including Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Clinical Psychology, AHP Professor in Neurorehabilitation and Stroke along with Therapy Assistant Practitioners.

As a service we are actively involved in research developments and as the clinical lead you will have opportunities to participate in service improvement projects. We also have a robust training and supervision structure in place to support staff to full fill their role.

As part of the therapy service, you will work across the stroke therapy pathway at weekends. The weekend rota includes a 7-day working rota including bank holidays.

This is a modern site with brand-new facilities, clean changing rooms, and plenty of opportunities for progression.

The rate of pay is:

First 12 weeks of service:

Days -£11.44 per hour, overtime rate after 48 hours £14.30 per hour
Nights -£11.74 per hour, overtime rate after 48 hours £14.68 per hour

After 12 weeks of service:

Days- £11.59 per hour, overtime rate after 42 hours £14.49 per hour
Nights-£11.89 per hour, overtime rate after 42 hours £14.86 per hour

You will be working 12-hour shifts, the hours of work are:

- Days - 6am to 6pm 4 days on and 4 days off.
- Nights - 6pm to 6am- Monday till Thursday

Transport is provided from Peterborough at 4 different locations for £8 per day to take you there and back.

Your Time at Work

As a Production Operative, your duties include:

- Trimming
- Grading
- Packing fruit and vegetables (Grapes, Citrus, Melons, Pineapples, Courgettes etc.) stacking or tripping boxes.

You may also be required to lift pallets of grapes and be responsible for ensuring that workers have enough product on the line.

Our ideal Production Operative has a good eye for detail and is happy to work in a fast-paced food preparation environment.

You must be able to work 12-hour shifts and there may be some heavy lifting involved.

Social Care Direct is the first point of contact for all new referrals to Wakefield Council. Your role would be to triage these referrals, providing urgent responses, offering advice and information and signposting. The role involves triaging requests for social care assessments and safeguarding referrals. As a Level 2 Social Worker you would also have the chance to attend multi-agency meetings and be a lead in championing new initiatives and team developments. It is expected you will be a practicing Best Interest Assessor, AMHP, Practice Educator or ASYE Assessor.



Most of our work is done over the phone, so you will need excellent phone skills. The work is very varied, with no two days the same, and suits someone who likes a fast pace of work and has excellent time management and prioritising skills. The team is not case holding and would suit Social Workers who enjoy short term and crisis intervention style work.



The team provides cover until 7pm on and evening and 9am – 5pm on a weekend, so some out of hours work is expected. We are able to offer flexible working and the opportunity to work from home on a regular basis.
