The Baltimore City Department of Transportation (DOT) is searching for a Deputy Director for Planning. DOT is responsible for the planning, design, building and maintenance of 2,000 miles of roadways; 7 miles of interstate highways; 298 bridges and culverts; 3,600 miles of sidewalks, curbing and gutters; 456 miles of alleys; 72,000 streetlights; 1,300 signalized intersections; and 250,000 traffic and informational signs within the City of Baltimore. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provides vision, oversight, and management for the assigned divisions: Transportation Services and Planning for the Department of Transportation. Employs practices and creates a positive culture to ensure attraction and retention of qualified staff.

You are a well-rounded Engineering professional with the highest professional ethics, robust leadership skills, and a passion for solving complex programmatic issues.

Additionally, you will possess:

• Prior experience as Director or senior level executive with a background managing large teams focused in horizontal or vertical construction programs
• Experience working with major public infrastructure agencies and projects, prior municipal experience as a city engineer or city traffic engineer is a plus
• Preferred experience with complex portfolio or program management including financial strategy and budgeting of local, state and federal funding sources
• Preferred ten (10) years of supervisory experience
• Preferred significant experience managing complex internal and external stakeholders including elected officials, other department heads, industry organizations, public entities

Required Minimum Qualifications

• Education requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Experience Requirement: Five (5) years of experience at the type and level of Engineer/Architect Director
• Education/Experience Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for experience requirements
• Licensure: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Requires registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the Colorado State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers at the time of application. Or requires registration as an Architect by the Colorado State Board of Registration at the time of application. Registration in another state will be accepted in lieu of this requirement, provided that the applicant has Colorado registration at completion of probation.

The Product Management Senior Manager is a senior management level position responsible for managing a broad range of Product Management employees, setting strategy and providing direction, leadership and budgetary management, etc. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the development of product plans, strategies, and tactics while coordinating product lines through product life-cycles in coordination with the broader Product Management team. The overall objective of this role is to coordinate the promotion of products to develop new markets, increase share of market and obtain competitive position.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of professional to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)
• Manage strategic program roadmap, program/product launch, and program marketing to gain maximum benefit from each product
• Monitor client and competitor market research to ensure successful execution of a marketing plan spanning product, brand, acquisition, customer and retention, and improving performance, brand preference, and client engagement
• Develop plans and execute functional strategies for a country, group of countries, region, or business requiring coordination and integration across units
