Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Dorset County NHS Foundation Trust with special interest in Urogynae.
This post will include participation in the Obstetric non-resident on call service and clinical sessions to complement the needs of the Department.

This post is offered on the 2003 Consultant contract terms and conditions of service . The successful candidate will join our existing team of 8 consultants. This is a full time position with 10 programmed activities with an on call commitment of 1:8.
Provide clinical expertise and responsibility to the service in terms of knowledge, clinical activity and guidance as needed
To take part in the 1 in 7 consultant on call rota and conduct post-take consultantward rounds.
Clinical and administrative responsibility for the proper functioning of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department
Supervision of the junior medical staff in the Unit who will have opportunity to learn on a one-to-one basis on both formal and informal rounds and also on ad hoc basis throughout the day
To ensure a high level of efficiency and effectiveness in the provision of patientcare.
To fulfil continuing professional development requirements in line with clinicalgovernance.
To participate in audit and other areas of Directorate responsibility.
To assist the department in meeting government targets, and take an active partin further development of the service.
To attend and actively participate in monthly department and education meetings
The Obstetric and Gynaecology Department at Dorset County Hospital consists of eight Consultants, six Specialty Doctors, three Registrars on the Wessex rotation, five junior doctors and two Trust Doctors supporting the service.
The main base for the Obstetric and Gynaecology Department is Dorset County Hospital.
