The Health EquitySpecialistis a key role in the regional Public Health(PH)directorate and Health Equity teamreportingtothePreventionProgramme Manager. As part of this team, they will support thedirection for the regional efforts to improve regional healthy life expectancy and reduce health inequalities. The principal focus is on improving health equity for the population by ensuring there is an integrated approach to delivery that incorporatesPopulation Health Management(PHM), Health Improvement, Prevention and Health Inequalities programmes.
The post holder will provide advice,guidance and support tothePrevention ProgrammeManagerand health equity teamensuring thatprojects/ programmes of workfor improving population health, supporting prevention, and reducing health inequalitiesaredelivered effectively. This will include the provision ofa public health informed approach to project and programme deliveryresulting in theimplementationofanoverall regional Health Equity approach.
TheHealth Equity Specialistwillbe responsible forthe delivery of key activities and taskas agreed withthe Prevention Programme Manager andsystem colleagues.
The post holder will work collaboratively with colleaguesacrossthe directorateand regionallyto support the delivery of system andregionalobjectives.Leading a multidisciplinary matrix team that will support the delivery of health equity projects and workstreams, focused on achieving national regional and local priorities that are aligned to the core aspect of the national Core20Plus 5 initiative, strategic priorities, the regionalLong TermPlan (LTP)prevention agenda and PHM strategies.
