• Perform specimen collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques following standard laboratory practices.
• Assist in the general laboratory by preparing specimens for analysis, labeling specimen tubes, preparing laboratory equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and quality control of laboratory equipment.
• Perform basic laboratory testing. Prepare specimens for send out; prepare slides for gram stain.
• Cleans lab glassware and equipment.
• Performs critical cleaning procedures.

• Develops, implements, monitors, manages and evaluates the Service Unit's emergency management policy, plans, and procedures, and activities to comply with Federal preparedness and Homeland Security Presidential Directives, for the SU inclusive of hospital and clinics.
• Manages, prioritizes, and provides deliverables for applicable grants; develops goals, objectives, policies, and procedures by administering and monitoring grant budgets, participates in strategic and operational planning, writes policies and procedures for the hospital and clinics, prepares, and submits reports to the Director of Division of Quality Management, Hospital Executive Committee and the Navajo Area Office.
• Leads and participates in the Service Unit emergency management functions involving training and exercises, development of interoperable communication capabilities including satellite technology and continued internet availability. Operates automated computerized information system.
• Serves as EP field liaison for training participation with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Arizona Department of Health Services.
• Serves as a liaison to the local community and tribal programs interested in IHS emergency management processes and materials.

• Independently develops workable treatment plans and provides direct treatment using a wide variety of techniques for the resolution of personal, social, or environmental difficulties related to substance use disorders.

• Manages all aspects of developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care plans for patients with substance use and abuse related problems,

• Distributes the workload among employees in accordance with established work flow or job specialization, and assures timely accomplishment of the assigned workload. Coordinates and resolves work assignments and problems.

• Distribute and balance the workload among the dental assistants in accordance with established work flow, assure timely accomplishment of the assigned workload, and assure that each employee has enough work to keep busy.
• Under the direct supervision of the Dental Director or licensed provider (when on the floor), the dental assistant assists the dentist or dental hygienist to perform all preventive, periodontal, restorative, pediatric, endodontic, surgical, and prosthetic.

• Performs a wide range clinical laboratory tests/exams including difficult and infrequent tests requiring special knowledge, for use in clinical diagnosis, patient screening and other authorized purposes. Communicates imperative information to subordinates, such as troubleshooting, and govems quality services.
• Assure optimal performance of all instrument and determines procedures for microbiology tests to be performed. lnforms the Supervisor of deficiencies in manual and automated test performance and identifies hardware problems to the appropriate Biomedical or facility maintenance team. Develops and implements the use of protocols for performance of tests, evaluation of results and monitors conformity to accepted practices.
• Demonstrates a superior level of technical proficiency and problem-solving ability in medical laboratory science principles, concepts and methodology sufficient to carry out a variety of diagnostic tests and verify results. This knowledge must be sufficient to develop and establish procedures for testing in the Microbiology, Molecular Diagnostics, and Urinalysis sections of the Core Lab, and to provide corrective actions on testing problems and to confirm diagnosis.
• The incumbent serves as the subject matter expert and Consulting Microbiologist for advising physicians, Laboratory, and other related health professionals, on the theories and principles of Clinical Microbiology, Molecular Diagnostics, and Urinalysis testing principles and provides guidance to Technologists, Technicians, and other support personnel.
• Ensures the scheduling, performance, and documentation of the preventative maintenance for laboratory equipment (including pipette calibrations, tachometer calibrations on centrifuges, annual timers & thermometer checks, and annual PMs on analyzers).

• Provides a full range of technical services in coding, abstracting and billing functions.
• Receives and examines alternate resources claims to assure claims are complete with appropriate supporting documents which typically include utilization review certifications.
• Searches and abstracts all CPT coding, operative and therapeutic and all other pertinent data from the medical records in order to identify and document appropriate patient care and other information necessary for billing.
• Responsible for automated transmission of all third-party claims in a timely manner.
• Establishes day-to-day billing procedures, files and the maintenance of such files for research and general retrieval.
