What you’ll be doing
As our Education Support assistant, you are an integral part of our education team and will support us to carry out a smooth delivery of our field courses and environmental activities.
This will involve preparing fieldwork equipment and classrooms for learners of all abilities, ensuring areas are clean and safe for use. As well as organise lesson and health and safety resources for our learning groups.
You may be required to accompany teaching staff on field trips, assist students with their fieldwork, help run environmental or problem-solving games and aid teaching staff in the collection of class data.
You will be flexible to our ever-changing learning environment and be happy to assist where required to ensure our centre always runs efficiently. An adaptable approach to your working hours is required as they can change each week depending on the operational needs of the centre.

Where you’ll be based
Our Dale Fort centre is set in a spectacular location high on the cliffs within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, giving superb views over the sea.
Originally built in 1856 to defend the Milford Haven waterway against invasion, it has been a field centre since 1948. The centre has 4 well equipped classrooms, including one wet lab, a library, games room, sitting room and bar.
Our centre is ideally located for coastal studies and for accessing Skomer Island with its renowned resident sea bird populations, including puffins, guillemots and razorbills.
Rocky shore, salt marsh, grassland and woodland are a short walk from the centre and a wide variety of teaching sites are within 30 minutes’ drive – these include rural and urban settlements, coastal landscapes, and tourist honeypot areas.

A degree or equivalent in a relevant subject is desirable but not essential, it is more important to us that you have:
