Project Title: Optimization of Optoelectronic Sensors for Object Tracking

Project Introduction: We are looking for a research assistant for the development and optimization of electrochemical optoelectronic sensors for applications in object recognition and object tracking.

Requirements:

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in one of the following: physics, chemistry, materials science, or electrical engineering. The candidate should be motivated and reliably show up at work physically to perform experiments in the laboratories during working hours. The candidate should have some prior experience in working in a chemistry laboratory and know how to handle basic chemicals.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will fabricate optoelectronic sensors including glass cleaning, glass cutting, and hole drilling. Furthermore, the candidate will perform basic chemistry such as preparing electrolytes and dye solutions, carry out electric characterizations of the sensors, analyze the measured data, take care of laboratory consumables inventory, as well as write reports/publications.

Supervise and coordinate the activities of personnel, on an assigned shift, in the performance of police duties on campus and at satellite locations to protect the welfare of faculty, staff, students, visitors and all property within the area under the control and jurisdiction of the Dallas College. Develop and/coordinate community programming on relevant law enforcement topics.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge and ability to provide enforcement and maintenance of law and order by continuous patrol, surveillance, crime prevention and enforcement of all applicable laws of the city, state, and federal government and in accordance with Dallas College policies and procedures.

• Trained or obtain training to provide emergency medical treatment, including CPR/AED, until medical personnel arrive.

• Ability to analyze situations quickly, accurately, and objectively in order to determine proper course of action.

• Able to handle situations firmly, courteously, tactfully, and with respect for the rights of others.

• Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records and generate reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates the activities of assigned personnel to include regulation of pedestrian and vehicular traffic, patrolling of physical property, enforcement of laws/statutes and Dallas College policies/ procedures, and investigation of accidents or criminal acts.

• Assists with ensuring compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act.

• Provides daily status reports to supervisor regarding follow-up investigations, potential hazards, etc.

• Maintains and ensures compliance with proper data collection procedures necessary for adherence to Texas racial profiling reporting laws.

• Required to handle handguns, baton, and/or defense spray in a safe and effective manner and be tested on same periodically.

• Maintains contact with other law enforcement agencies.

• Stays up to date on laws, ordinances, and any relevant training beneficial to law enforcement.

• Maintains peace officer licensure by obtaining proper bi-annual TCOLE mandated training.

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Dallas College community network by modeling integrity in decisions, communication, and the treatment of individuals.

• Motivates subordinates to accomplish the goals and objectives of the department and district, evaluates performance of assigned personnel and ensure they meet all requirements, including training, for retention of peace officer licensure.

• Promotes a collaborative community-centered public safety model.

• Provides feedback to employees to assist in their development. Inspects facilities and makes recommendations for proper security patrol.

• Ensures that assigned personnel are thoroughly familiar with the Dallas College campus location, its property and conditions or problems that may require police attention.

• Supervises utilization and maintenance of weapons and equipment.

• Performs the duties and responsibilities of a patrol officer when not serving in a supervisory capacity.

• Secures crime scenes, arbitrates disputes, conducts preliminary and follow-up investigations, gathers evidence, obtains witness statements, apprehends suspects, and makes arrests.

• Effectively uses interpersonal and communication skills, with tact and diplomacy, when interacting with individuals of different social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.

Physical Requirements

The Complex Systems Science @ NTU (led by A/Prof Cheong Kang Hao) is looking for passionate individuals to join our research team. Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct independent research

Job Requirements:

• PhD degree in AI in education, deep learning, educational psychology, computer science and related fields

• Excellent oral and written communication skills with good command of the English language to perform literature reviews and write progress and research reports

• Knowledge and experience in social science research methodologies

• Good statistical knowledge and skills, including familiarity with statistical analysis tools (e.g., SPSS and R)

• Familiar with coding (e.g., in R, MATLAB, Python)

• Experience with research project management and supervision of research staff and students

• Excellent organizational skills, project coordination and administration skills (e.g., in data management and storage), and able to work within tight deadlines

• Good leadership skills

• Self-directed learner who can effectively picks up relevant skills as needed

Job Summary

Faculty and instructors are responsible for curriculum, teaching, service, scholarship, and related administrative activities that support the mission, vision, and values of the university.

The College of Science, Technology, and Health at Lindenwood University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Athletic Training.

Qualified applicants will possess a doctoral degree in athletic training, exercise science, kinesiology, or related field with clinical experience in athletic training. Applicants must be in good standing with the Board of Certification with current Missouri state licensure (or eligibility for licensure). Preference will be given to candidates with additional health care credentials (i.e., DPT, PA, NP); those with experience teaching in a CAATE-accredited program; and/or those with an established record of research project mentorship.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach 4 courses (12 credit hours) each semester in the graduate athletic training curriculum. Teaching deployment will be based on the candidate’s contemporary expertise within the field. All Lindenwood faculty members are expected to advise and mentor students, continue to develop their expertise through research and scholarship, and participate in faculty governance and campus life.

The Assistant Professor of Athletic Training is a full-time, 9-month faculty position that will begin Fall 2024. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until filled.

The Manager is a leadership position overseeing the activities of a specified Work-study Degree Programme (WSDeg Prog) where the incumbent contributes both as an individual contributor and to oversee a small team.

The team is responsible to ensure that internship opportunities are aligned to NTU’s learning outcome; and students can benefit from the learning experience to become more job ready.

Responsibilities

Programme and Facilitation Management (OJT)

• Design, develop and provide WSDeg Prog within respective responsible school programme area in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders; and in accordance to NTU curriculum development guidelines.
• Facilitate between industry partners and NTU faculties to constantly review the WSDeg Prog curriculum (incl related academic curriculum).
• Responsible for all aspects of WSDeg Prog according to assigned college and/or schools.
• Manage end-to-end WSDeg Prog processes up to completion of the essential assessment process.
• Collaborate with OJT employers to develop required On-the-Job Training (OJT) Training Plan in respect to the OJT designated job roles; and to facilitate its application to respective student.
• Provide consultation and coaching support to students who need help in overcome OJT challenges and to facilitate remedial actions with relevant stakeholders with concurrence.

Business Development & Stakeholders Management

• Develop and make plans to look for new OJT opportunities from current and new employers to recruit NTU students.
• Engage current and potential employers (and any relevant stakeholders) to garner relevant OJT opportunities.
• Collaborate with Team Lead to plan and develop suitable WSDeg Prog initiatives with respective schools to reinforce workplace experiential learning; and help in organizing the team to realize the agreed plan.

• Bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized University.
• At least 4 to 6 years working experiences with exposure in team management role, internship/training management and service delivery experience preferably in tertiary education, adult education sectors and/or government agencies environment.
• Successful track record in the management of internships/ cooperative education/ work-study degree programme/ workplace learning/ performance enhancement or adult education.
• Familiar with adult learning pedagogy and practices of OJT.
• Able to provide career coaching support and consultation to students on their career goals, career aspiration, career development, career preparation and job search etc.
• Have some knowledge of industrial sectoral employment landscape and SkillsFuture Skills Framework.
• Candidate with qualifications in Career Facilitation Programme (CFP) and/or WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning & Facilitation (ACLP) will have added advantages.
