Main purpose of the job

The Credit Control Administrator is responsible for managing the invoicing distribution processes within the I&PC Finance Credit Control team. This role involves preparing, verifying, and sending out invoices to patients, Embassies, and private insurance companies, ensuring timely delivery in line with the Sponsors’ distribution requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast- paced environment.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Prepare and collate accurate invoices for healthcare services provided.
Verify the invoice number and balance outstanding to check if paid, stamping “paid” or“ outstanding” as appropriate, sending to parent.
Review and reconcile any discrepancies in debtor accounts and make necessary adjustments.
Review comments on Compucare system to determine correct allocations required, allocating the payments to the correct invoice.
Ensure all invoices comply with the Sponsors’ requirements before distributing.
Stay updated on changes in invoice requirements and distributions lists, keeping records accurate.
List invoices received from billing for the pending invoice weekly report, preparing the delivery sheets.
Dealing with ad-hoc requests from Embassies for copy invoices to be re-printed.
Liaise with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to resolve billing issues.
Respond to inquiries from patients and insurance companies regarding outstanding balances.
Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information, including supporting documentation for accurate invoicing.
Maintain detailed records of all invoices, payments, and correspondence.
Review patient billing information in the healthcare management system for invoice accuracy.
Submit patient statement reports on billing activities and outstanding amounts.
Follow up on overdue invoices and coordinate with the credit control team to ensure timely payments.
Transfer of Healthcode remittances information on to patients records in Compucare system.

The Role

Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist – Blood Transfusion Quality Officer

An exciting opportunity has come up within the East and South East London (ESEL) Pathology Network, for an enthusiastic Quality Lead who shares our vision of a high-quality transfusion service and invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced Band 7 Biomedical Scientists, or a Band 6 already with experience of fulfilling a Quality Lead role and is keen to move their career in that direction.

The successful candidate for the role of Quality Lead must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to organise and motivate staff. They will be responsible for the implementation, development, and management of the quality management system for the Blood Transfusion departments within ESEL as part of a team of 3 Blood Transfusion Quality Leads.



We are looking a candidate with extensive knowledge and experience of working within a Pathology laboratory. Previous experience of method or equipment validation/verification, familiarity with the requirements of ISO15189 and working within the regulatory requirements of Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is essential. The successful candidate will possess the investigative and presentation skills required to lead on all aspects of quality assurance, both internal and external, across the Blood Transfusion service, with the aim of maintaining standards for UKAS accreditation and other appropriate accreditation and regulatory requirements e.g., Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

The post-holder will be required to manage the day to day running of the quality management system within Blood Transfusion and be familiar with risk management processes, incident investigation and management processes, performing trending analysis and producing regular performance and compliance reports for Blood Transfusion, Pathology and service meetings.



The successful candidate will be provided post related training, and support for the identification and trending of errors and adverse events, implementing effective corrective and preventative actions to improve safety and quality.

To lead on all JAG Accreditation nursing clinical audits within the department. To lead and co-ordinate the recommendations and action plans of all clinical audits to provide assurance that the Endoscopy service is achieving and working towards continual improvements in clinical practice. You develop in partnership with the senior person responsible for IPC (Director of Clinical Services (DCS)) and with approval of the HIPCC, an annual program that is aligned to the HCAI code (DH 2010) (plus for Scottish and Welsh hospitals: NHS Scotland Code of Practice and National HCAI strategy for hospitals in Wales) and reflects specific objectives of Circle Health Group National Infection Prevention and Control annual program. Depending on level of competency the role holder will be the key implementer of the Hospital IPC programme. You utilise and work in partnership with the local Infection Control Doctor (ICD), ensuring that the service level agreement is appropriate for the hospital size, activity levels and complexity. You ensure risks of infection are identified throughout all hospital departments and disciplines and risk assessments are in place reflecting controls that are reviewed at least annually and as otherwise indicated. You ensure all reports required centrally for organisational wide information purposes and to support early identification of risks are collated and submitted within the set time limits. You comply with all relevant mandatory training. WHAT DO YOU HAVE? Experience in dealing with staff regarding clinical issues. Experience working as a nurse in an acute healthcare setting or experience working in infection control. Experience as a Registered Nurse (or other profession e.g. Operating Department Practitioner). We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 7 Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join the IPC team. The IPC CNS will work in conjunction with staff across the UCLH sites to improve IPC practice and reduce hospital acquired infections.

The post holder will provide leadership, mentorship, and line management to junior members of the team as well as peer support to the other band 7 IPC CNS within the team.

This post requires collaborative working with the IPC team and with all healthcare personnel across the Trust. Working alongside the IPC Consultant Nurses, Senior Nurses, IPC CNSs, Director of Infection Prevention & Control (DIPC) and the IPC Team, the post holder will shape IPC policy and guidance ensuring implementation into practice.

The IPC service includes the Trust wide management of isolation prioritisation to aid patient flow ensuring patient safety is maintained. Working alongside the coordination and operational services to review and advise on decontamination, building regulation compliance and the development of Trust wide education and audit programmes amongst others.

The post holder will be expected to spend 70% of time within the clinical areas providing education & training and advisory service; offering support and advice to staff clinically and 30% on project work and classroom-based teaching programmes.

The responsibilities of the post holder are:
• Providing and supporting a visible and proactive approach to the prevention, surveillance, investigation, and control of infection. This includes the review, formulation, implementation and education of evidence-based infection prevention and control practices (IPC), in line with national and Trust policy and guidance.
• Providing expert advice to multi-professional colleagues, patients and carers on IPC · Contribute to the development and implementation of measures to reduce the incidence of infection.
• Work collaboratively to develop systems and processes to support the organisation’s objectives relating to IPC
• Working with clinical teams across the Trust to implement, monitor and measure compliance relating to infection prevention and control.
• Take a lead in the clinical audit process, including the evaluation and disseminating learning outcomes.
• Developing and delivering educational and training programmes to all disciplines within the Trust. ·
• Acting as a strong patient advocate, providing visible compassionate leadership, and ensuring that the care of patients reflects best clinical standards.
• Leading on developing and reviewing Trust infection prevention and control policies and guidelines as directed by the nurse consultants/ deputy DIPCs.
• Lead the day to day running of the IPC team under the guidance of the Senior IPCNs. · Act as a line manager and mentor for junior members of the IPC team.
