We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Waste team at Beckton as the Maintenance Site Manager. This role presents the opportunity to lead a team of experienced technicians to deliver and manage the maintenance plan on the Tideway Tunnel Assets.
This project is upgrading London’s sewer system to cope with its growing population. Our 25km tunnel will intercept, store, and ultimately transfer sewage waste away from the River Thames.
We are looking for someone who has been working within a similar working environment with a Mechanical, Electrical or Engineering background and preferably working in an industrial field. Has previously had the health and safety responsibility for individuals and sites and managed a team with an operational function alongside this.
What you’ll be doing as the Maintenance Site Manager
- Working with Tideway to develop a Reliability Centred Maintenance approach.
- Assessment of technical information and development of maintenance approach and delivery, through reviewing engineering deliverables such as delivery to task specifications, engineering reports, drawings, specifications, and data sheets.
- Assessing project outputs' readiness for acceptance, as part of a multi-disciplinary maintenance working group, as we progress to acceptance of all of the Tideway assets.
- Develop a maintenance championing/training approach as we progress from Tideway to TWUL management of maintenance.
- Developing the reporting and then reporting maintenance KPIs and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Supervision of a small team to ensure delivery against objectives.
- Managing maintenance contracts to ensure delivery against objectives.
- Prepare and issue Asset Reports.
What you should bring to the role
- Relevant experience working within Water or Wastewater treatment or comparable industry, preferably qualification in Mechanical and Electrical or ICA.
- The ideal candidate will have previous experience in delivering effective maintenance plans with a strong focus on health and safety.
- Good team management and leadership skills.
- You will be a good team player, have good analytical and interpersonal skills, be an effective communicator and be willing to face challenging issues.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in change management.
