Job Opportunity: Administrative Support - Building and Estates Management at UKAEA
Overview
Join the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) as an Administrative Support professional within the Building and Estates Management department. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective management of our site. You will be integral to the Estates Development Control (EDC) process, supporting the Civils Group and covering various duties during staff absences.

Key Responsibilities
Estates Development Control Process Administration
Application Processing: Ensure EDC applications are processed within set timescales to prevent delays in proposed work start dates.
Communication: Relay queries from interfaces to applicants and chase for responses when necessary.
Work Progress Tracking: Contact applicants for updates on work progress and handover documents post-completion.
Closure and Archiving: Complete the closure process by verifying all documents are received, properly archived, and sent to the EDC Manager for approval.
Informing Stakeholders: Keep various B&EM groups informed about EDCs related to new asset installations.
Issue Resolution: Quickly escalate any EDC process issues to the EDC Manager.
Database Management: Maintain the database for quick verification of EDC progress.
Additional Administrative Duties
Provide administrative support to the team during periods of absence and peak workloads, ensuring continuity and efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: A good basic level of education.
IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including database management.
Customer Service Experience: Experience in a customer service environment is essential.
Customer-Driven: A strong focus on providing excellent customer service.
Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks on time.
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external personnel.
Assertiveness: Ability to ensure information is received promptly from applicants and interfaces involved in the EDC process.
Attention to Detail: Acute attention to detail, particularly in checking figures provided by contractors.
Problem-Solving: Capability to resolve simple problems independently, seeking guidance from Group Managers as required.
