ABOUT THE ROLE 

As an Accounting Support Officer, you will provide comprehensive support to the Managing Director and the onshore team. You will have a strong background in finance, exceptional analytical skills, and a passion for driving efficiency and excellence within the firm. 1/ Administration: (About 60-70% workload)

About the Role
As an Assistant Accountant in a fast-paced retail company backed by private equity, you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance and accounting team. More specifically your responsibilities will include:

• Cash management including the process the bank reconciliations.
• General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjusting entries as required.
• Payroll Processing: Take ownership of the weekly payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payroll. This includes reviewing timesheets, calculating wages, deductions, and overtime, and maintaining employee records related to payroll.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable: Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions by processing invoices through lightyear, verifying billing accuracy, preparing payment schedules, Tax and super payments , and managing vendor and customer inquiries.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role is focusing on bookkeeping, accounting and payroll. You will need to demonstrate:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA Preferred but not essential
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Xero) and Microsoft Excel (Advance); experience with other ERP systems is a plus.
