This is an exciting opportunity within an award-winning Communications and Engagement team at the heart of local government. In this role, you will provide multi-discipline communications and engagement support at senior officer level for our Safer and Stronger Communities directorate.

We're looking for a corporate communications manager to join our communications team on a 6-month secondment.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Communications Officer to join our team in either Oldham, London or Bristol on a full-time, permanent basis. Hybrid working opportunities are available.

The successful candidate will help make sure that our external digital communication channels have maximum impact, provide relevant engaging content, and reach our key audiences. You'll be responsible for creating digital and video content across our social media channels and website and supporting the business in external communications planning.

You will also provide support across the communications team, where required, supporting on corporate events, generating press and internal copy, and leading on communications campaigns to support the business.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Monitor and deliver day to day website activity, driving up digital engagements and optimising our presence on search engines.
• Monitor and manage the corporate social media accounts on a day-to-day basis. Building up a strong following through engaging content and campaigns. Ensuring we are always managing our reputation effectively.
• Project manage and deliver digital communications activities against an annual schedule, ensuring they are fit for purpose and value for money.
• Develop and review our website and social media channels and make recommendations for continuous improvement and new opportunities.
• Ensure digital communications is integrated into wider communications activities.
• Ensure everything produced is consistent with TGP brand and visual identity.
• Provide training and advice regarding digital communications.
• Establish and manage effective working relationships with a range of internal and external contacts and suppliers to ensure that all communications activities meet our standards, are value for money and are accurate.

Essential Skills:

• Excellent oral and written communications.
• Proven experience of working within a communications environment delivering on agreed objectives and operational priorities.
• Proven experience of managing digital communications channels i.e. social media channels and using content management systems
• Proven customer service experience.
• Ability to produce concise and informative material.
• Ability to work on own initiative and to be proactive.
• Good persuading and influencing skills.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Desirable Skills:

• Proven experience of delivering digital campaigns
• Ability to manage varied and complex workstreams.
• Good project management skills.

We're looking for a Retail Media Product Manager to join our Co-op Media Network. In this role you'll work in a hybrid way splitting your time between home, the office, and visiting our stores (find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).



As a Retail Media Product Manager, you'll be part of a team focused on revolutionising the way media is valued in the convenience market. We'll look to you to support in the co-ordination, planning and implementation of new media capabilities. You'll support the wider team as our inhouse subject matter expert, specifically in the construction of new business cases and collaborating with internal and external partners to unlock new capabilities.



What you'll do

- Drive the development of innovative advertising products and services tailored for the convenience retail sector, including instore digitisation and personalised marketing
- Oversee the lifecycle of each advertising product, from inception to market launch, looking after ongoing enhancements based on market feedback and technological advancements
- Work closely with our sales and operations teams to make sure that product offerings are well-integrated into the broader market strategy
- Conduct market research to find opportunities for product enhancement, keeping up to date with market trends
- Lead the completion of the product plan, whilst coordinating partners and running working groups
- Collaborate with agencies and strategic advertiser partners to assess interest, minimal viable requirements, and success measures of new innovations



This role would suit people who have

- Retail media or performance media experience
- Experience in managing agency relationships
- The ability to create new product business cases, and building/launching something new to market
- The confidence to meet with partners at all levels with the ability to influence and challenge decisions
- Experience in dealing with and understanding commercial value

Digital and Social Media: Proficient in use of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn to promote and monitor the HInM profile. Play a leading role in developing HInMs digital and social media plan strategy to increase followers, improve engagement, produce and maintain original content and enhance the programme portfolio. Leadership and Management: Provide line management to the Senior Communications Officer and Communications Officer providing leadership, mentoring, coaching and personal development planning, guided by policies and establish interpretation. Provide day-to-day operational management and support to all members of the Communications team to ensure priorities are met and delivered to a consistent professional standard. Monitor and ensure that all relevant functions, projects and programmes are delivered within the budgets agreed with the Head Director of Communications. Corporate Communications: Work with the Head of Communications to develop, implement and evaluate integrated communications strategies to support HInMs objectives and business priorities. Develop an annual communications plan and engaging communications activity/campaigns to promote how HInM and its system partners are delivering innovation into frontline care that is having an impact on peoples lives and improving outcomes, as well as positioning Greater Manchester as being at the leading edge of health innovation, research and life sciences. Oversee delivery of impactful communications plans and campaigns that support HInMs range of innovation programmes and projects, with a particular emphasis on national projects and those derived by the Greater Manchester system. PR and Media Management: Provide experienced crisis communications handling advice on often complex and sensitive issues and deputise for the Head of Communications where appropriate, including leading the communications response in the event of a major incident.
