Salary: £36,312 - £42,717
Hours: 36 per week
We have an exciting opportunity for a strong marketing and communications professional to join Forever Edinburgh, the official guide to Edinburgh, who market and promote Edinburgh to raise awareness of everything the city has to offer inbound visitors and residents throughout the year.
You will report to the Destination Marketing and Contract Manager. We are seeking an individual with a passion for marketing and a love for Edinburgh, someone who thrives in a fast-paced and creative environment and wishes to contribute to promoting the city’s full range of visitor offerings to both inbound leisure visitors and residents.
This engaging role involves collaboration with a diverse range of businesses across the local and regional visitor economy, including food and drink venues, visitor attractions, accommodation providers, transport partners, media and influencers, as well as third-party suppliers.
The postholder will actively participate in all aspects of the marketing function, including campaign planning and delivery, stakeholder engagement and management, content creation and development, strategy writing and execution, and using creativity to innovate solutions for new market challenges. These activities will contribute to the marketing aspects of the 2030 Edinburgh Tourism Strategy.
In this small team, you'll play a significant role, requiring a high degree of autonomy, intuition, and initiative. The successful candidate will need to be confident in developing and delivering integrated marketing campaigns, applying thought leadership, and asking the correct questions to kickstart new marketing responses. They will be able to think strategically and make connections, ensuring that marketing and communications plans are ambitious yet realistic and achievable.
Based in the Place Directorate, the successful candidate will work closely with managers across the entire Council and local and regional tourism industry partners, developing an excellent oversight of Edinburgh’s visitor economy, the wider tourism landscape, and priorities across the organisation.
We are looking for candidates with experience in: • Dynamic Marketing Professional: Proven experience in developing and executing integrated campaigns, analysing customer insights, and developing and executing B2B and B2C marketing. • Strategic Leadership and Compliance: Navigate political environments, formulate Go-to-Market strategies, and ensure compliance with legal requirements, demonstrating effective leadership. • Creative Content and Brand Management: Expertise in crafting multimedia content, content planning and development, enforcing brand guidelines, and contributing to a consistent brand image. • Operational Efficiency: Efficiently manage projects, oversee delivery of outputs from external suppliers, and contribute to cross-service initiatives within a large, complex organisation. • Digital Proficiency and Innovation: Utilise digital tools effectively, demonstrate strong IT skills, and bring creativity to marketing approaches, responding to emerging trends.
We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.
Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
