A fantastic opportunity for a Cluster Sales/Sales Executive to drive sales performance within their assigned hotel or hotel cluster, with a primary focus on the Corporate and Meetings & Events segments as directed by the Cluster Sales Manager. This is a pro-active sales role, responsible for managing an existing portfolio of Accounts and driving new business for themselves and their team in line with the hotel/s strategies and budgets. They will be specifically researching and targeting business in competitor hotels and venues both locally and nationally. Delivery of assigned KPIs through the setting of strategic and measurable sales actions, throughout the Cluster.

What will you be doing?
- Develop an in-depth understanding of your hotels' local markets based on intelligence and knowledge of competitor activity and rates, resulting in increased revenue generation through focused sales activities for Local and National Accounts.
- Ensure we maintain and grow revenue and market share via existing and new customers, developing a network of contacts to help to cross sell the group
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
- Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximise profits.
- Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g., monthly sales results and annual forecasts).
- Produce accurate and timely, weekly, monthly and annual reporting that meets the needs of Cluster Sales Manager and General Managers
- Complete and execute hotel sales plan, review and update in line with strategy and hotel business needs.
- Involvement in RFP’s both local and national ensuring all stakeholders are consulted during negotiations.
- Managing a portfolio of local accounts
- Achieve 8 face-to-face appointments per week.
- Using data and market research conduct telesales and campaigns to identify opportunities for hotels.
- Support the conversion of key business Group and M&E Enquiries.
- Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of target accounts.
- Attend any Hotel/brand Team Meetings, Sales Meetings, Blitzes and organising FAM (familiarisation trips for travel agents) as requested.
- Adhoc reporting as necessary, including data for Head Office.
What we need from you
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be a proactive self-starter who is able to proactively drive business, maintain or grow market share from existing accounts and delivery of any potential new business. There will be a significant reliance on the individual to understand and analyse market data to identify opportunities for new business wins. In addition, the role requires:
- Effective selling skills.
- Excellent relationship-building skills.
- Ambitious and driven, with a desire to understand the hotel sector.
- Results-driven, self-motivated, flexible and resilient.
- Previous experience as a Sales Executive achieved within a UK market, with a good understanding of hotel business mix needs of transient and corporate business.
- Excellent communication, organisational skills, and negotiation skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) are essential.
- Experience of Delphi and reservations Systems (Cvent/OnQ) would be highly desirable.
- The ability to represent the hotels, brands and wider group in a compelling manner to influence new business acquisition.
- Numerate and the ability to identify opportunities.
