Located at the Designation and Sentence Computation Center (DSCC) for the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP).

Provides clerical, administrative and technical support for a team of DSCC staff, working independently under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager.

Establishes and creates files/records and filing systems for inmate records.

Operates a web-based program designed for designation processes involving U.S. Probation Office (USPO), U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), and the Bureau of Prisons (Capture).

Fields questions from institutions, residential re-entry centers, regional office, Judges, Probation Officers, USMS, inmate families, and the general public regarding sensitive information.

Major duties include but are not limited to:

• Provide administrative oversight of the Personnel Management program for the service line.
• Monitor the utilization of authorized positions and identifying personnel needs in response to changes in program goals and objectives, budgetary constraints, and/or regulatory mandates.
• Develop proposals for new employees when existing staff are insufficient.
• Serve as a liaison to each of the three distinct unions representing employees at the facility.
• Develop the annual budget proposal for the service line, forecasting needs for all program operations.
• Create business plans for the expansion of existing programs and the implementation of new programs.
• Examine the clinical, operational, financial, and strategic implications of all significant changes to the Agency, Facility and/or Service Line program goals and objectives.
• Integrate data, analyses, conclusions, and recommendations into a concise and persuasive deliverable.
• Research and draft required documentation for the purchase of all equipment utilized by the service line programs.
• Continuously assess the performance of service line programs in relation to national and local access targets.

This position is located in the Sector Commander's office. The civilian employee is the administrative assistant performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties, which are auxiliary and yet complimentary to the work of the organization.

• Receiving visitors and telephone calls to the office, determine the nature of the requests and direct callers to appropriate staff, or personally provide the information desired when routine or procedural matters of the office are involved.

• Perform a variety of administrative duties in support of office functions.
• Serve as a contact for all administrative matters.
• Provide technical guidance and assistance to employees and management on the full range of administrative functions necessary to the efficient and economical operation.
• Prepare administrative policy statements, standard operating procedures, and other guidance.
• Review current procedures for internal processing of administrative work, and recommend improvements to work flow and efficiency of operations.
• Serve as the primary advisor and technical resource to officials on accounting and financial management matters.
• Advise management regarding procedures, laws, regulations, and policies dealing with workforce diversity, recruitment, merit promotion, employee and labor relations, career development, training, and other human resources related activities.

• Interpret established and pertinent regulations, organizational policies, management principles, and administrative rules to provide hands on support and provide guidance to program staff.
• Assist the supervisor in ensuring effective administrative operations for the unit.
• Provide general guidance and answers to inquiries concerning the application of administrative regulations, legislative acts and policies received from Regional and/or Washington Office to ensure compliance with unit priorities.
• Analyzes a variety of projected situations involved with budget actions, personnel structure and organizational structures.
• Communicates with internal and external sources to gather data using tact and diplomacy.
• Coordinates with Staffs on the responses to a variety of requests,(i.e., program functions, obtains information, prepares and transmits general replies, and refers requests) in a timely manner.
• Maintains copies of individual training plans and advises personnel on training schedule.
• Establishes and maintains liaison with representatives from other FS organizations within the region to resolve problems encountered with reporting systems, controls, etc.

• Serve as an Administrative Support Assistant in any Field, District, or State/Center organization within the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
• Perform a wide variety of administrative support functions and specialized duties each requiring a comprehensive working knowledge of special and/or complex subject matter, procedures, or practices.

About the unit

We are 1 of 3 offices in the Neuro service line of Corewell Health, specifically Neurosciences. Our team supports four subspecialties, including Epilepsy, Neurosurgery, Neurovascular, and Movement Disorders. We are an outpatient office that provides extensive continuing care for a variety of patients, including those with epileptic and non-epileptic seizures, strokes and aneurysms, ailments of the spine and brain, and Parkinson's Disease. While our clinic is outpatient, our team works closely with the inpatient Neurosurgery/Neurovascular/Epilepsy teams at Butterworth Hospital to round out an outstanding care team for our patients. We operate during business hours Monday through Friday (No Weekends or Holidays!) We have a diverse team that is devoted to managing care for patients and building our culture every day! Scope of work
