We are looking to appoint a Security Warden to ensure the College provides a purposeful and safe study environment for students and staff.
The successful applicant will have experience of working within a supervisory role and will be based both indoors and outdoors throughout the academic year. Will either hold or be willing to work towards achieving a First Aid at Work qualification and be able to work in a calm and professional manner, using their own initiative and without requiring direct supervision.

This is a term-time, permanent full time post, working 40 hours per week to commence as soon as possible.

Main duties of this role will be to work within the security department of the organisation, working on a shift pattern basis. The shifts vary and will fall between the hours of 6am and 9pm.This will involve working 5 of the 7 days per week and will include some weekend work.
Responsibilities will include:

• Manning the gatehouse
• Checking in visitors for staff
• Escorting visitors around the establishment
• Working in the mail room checking post
• Assisting on prison wings when required

This role is a fundamental part of the organisation and requires you to have good communication skills, be able to follow strict procedures and have initiative to notify senior staff if there are any problems. Full training is provided but it would be beneficial to have prior experience of security, using radios and handling multiple keys for one site. A uniform is also provided.
