Region Director, Data Center Operations, OCI - Be a part of our organization supporting hyperscale distributed infrastructure for the cloud. Oracle’s Data Center team is rapidly expanding with new regions and sites across APAC. We’re looking for an experienced leader, with strong people management experience, business acumen and a well-rounded IT technical abilities (at scale) to lead the teams responsible for building and supporting our cloud data centers in the Asia.

Work with a world class team to develop, implement, and support cutting edge Oracle technology. Manages teams supporting and/or implementing multi functional and/or multi-location projects and/or systems. Defines, documents and manages scope, expectations, implementation approach, deliverables and acceptance testing criteria. • This role is a manager of managers and as such you should be an experienced manager of diverse teams, able to navigate local customs, laws & employment directives, strong people management ability and a deep technical grounding in the physical aspects of IT Service Delivery.

Typical functions for day to day in the role are:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of all Data Center sites under your area, in a 24/7 mission critical environment.
• Responsible for ensuring timely delivery of services/tasks to meet project milestones.
• Working with project managers to guide their actions and provide ‘on-the-ground’ advice / support.
• Ensuring the quality benchmark is upheld for new sites / regions / deployments and being the gate keeper of this.
• Driving the delivery of improvements and providing detailed, concrete feedback in project reviews / lesson learned activities.
• Interacting across functional areas and teams (e.g., Engineering, Build, Site Selection, Business Operations etc.).
• Reacting to and managing any incidents that occur, driving resolution and After-Action analysis.
• Capacity expansions at all scales (rack additions, block additions, whitespace growth, new sites).
• Drive appropriate recruitment in different countries at a fast pace, ensuring the employment of high-quality team members with a passion for excellence.
• Driving a culture of continual improvement and learning throughout everything you do.

*Rotational shifts: Members in the team will rotate accordingly around 3 shifts (time will shift to an hour later during the daylight saving time period in the year).

**On call support: This covers 7 consecutive days during non-business hours to manage escalated incidents and to work on planned changes, weekend included.

• Morning: 7am-4pm

• Afternoon:2pm-11pm

• Evening: 5pm-2am

Main responsibilities

You will mainly be responsible for:

• Performing all run activities in respect of firm’s process, ensuring :

– SLA and priorities are respected

– Appropriate reaction, in line with the severity of an incident or escalation.

– Firm’s process are dully followed (service request, change, incident, problem management)

– Management of technical issues, escalations and ensuring good level of delivery

– Primary operational technical support and assist the functional support teams

– Good collaboration between various teams

• Continuous improvement of service

– Propose improvement and solution to reduce repetitive tasks

– Improving complex operations (DRP, Migrations, Major maintenance etc.)

– Improving reliability and quality of our systems (automation, monitoring, alerting, security, RCA etc.)

– Reducing time-to-market by implementing CICD pipelines where possible

– Improve and standardize existing workflow processes and framework

– Bridging the gap between Dev and Ops

• Managing knowledge within the team

– Share the knowledge within AS teams through the WIKI

– Promoting knowledge sharing within the organization (trainings, documentations etc.)

• Driving the most complex operations & ensures they are well prepared (involvement on DRP test, WIP, etc…).

– Act as global coordinator main events.

– Review of major releases roadmaps

– Ensure post checks are documented, performed and report is shared

Job Requirements:

– The position requires a minimum of 3 years relevant experiences as a production support or at least infrastructure support or development role.

– Experience in a banking environment is a plus.

– Minimum 3 years of experience with UNIX environments

– Minimum 3 years of experience in scripting languages such as Python, Powershell

– Minimum 2 years of hands on experience in any of these tools and technologies such as Ansible, Gitlab, Azure Devops, Docker, Kubernetes

– Experience with task schedulers such as Control-M

– Good understanding of IT ecosystems and application architectures

– Knowledge about : CICD pipelines, ITIL practices, Agile practices, Lean, Observability tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, or Dynatrace is a plus

What will I do in this position if hired?

In this Information Technology Specialist (CUSTSPT) IT Specialist - Reservist position, you will be a member of the IT Cadre and will perform a wide range of IT management activities that extend and apply to specified units in the FEMA organization and its major components. Typical assignments include:

• Deliver technical support services, including troubleshooting, installation, removals, systems knowledge assistance and/or training in response to customer requirements.
• Assist functional uses in resolving technical computer problems and malfunctions.
• Install, configure and test software on customer workstations and participating in the delivery of a full range of customer support services to the organization.
• Identify users' locations equipment, and software and determining the nature of the problem (e.g. routine user error, faulty data lines, equipment malfunctions, software malfunctions, etc.).
