Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Policy and Plans Specialist in the Strategy, Policy and Plans Directorate under North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM). Conducts comprehensive planning to meet Secretary of Defense (SecDef) and Chairman, Joint Chief of Staff (CJCS) strategies and plans in support of national security objectives. Prepares and coordinates policy and analysis input to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and Joint Staff on a myriad of Homeland Defense, Aerospace Defense, Civil Support, Security Cooperation, and DoD globally synchronized or supported strategies and plans.

Duties:

• Develops and coordinates strategic/operational level policy and plans, in response to SecDef and CJCS direction, through the CJCS Joint Strategic Planning System (JSPS) in support of national objectives.

Develops charts, graphs, tables, and visual media to present trends, performance status, capabilities, and related management information. (3) Advises when manpower authorization appears unbalanced, based on analytical and statistical studies, as directed. Identifies and validates manning required to support the organizational mission by use of various forecasting and statistical techniques. Evaluates changes in the operational plan for the program that will affect the maintenance capability forecast. Serves as a management information systems manager for the branch. Analyzes automation needs and recommends systems architecture for all maintenance operations. Develops, collects, and maintains various data used to evaluate and improve the maintenance effort. Monitors data input and output products between the maintenance function and data automation. Evaluates data from any source, which is significant to the maintenance operation.

In this Grants Management Specialist position, you will be responsible for financial management of BRIC grants. You will be performing final review of completed grant or cooperative agreements/awards and making appropriate adjustments. You will be performing post award management, including process grant closeout, monitoring and audits requirements.

Typical assignments include:

• Review grant application with respect to grants administration requirements; this includes review of the SF424 Application for Federal Assistance and required assurances, Management Costs and processing through FEMA GO

• Conduct financial system cross checks to verify accuracy of Final Federal Financial Report; ensure match has been met and there are no additional cash or cost adjustments necessary; document review of final financial report and system review in closeout workbook.

1. Serves as an advisor to the Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist on all Combat Service Support (CSS) Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs. Exercises knowledge and oversight for all matters pertaining to the fielding and operation of Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs. Utilizes an extensive knowledge of logistics programs/operations and a clear understanding of automated systems to manage projects and programs for systems integration of CSS automation. Identifies funding requirements to support SASMO operations, justifies and submits budget requirements for State operating budget, and executes funds received.
2. Serves as a Systems Administrator for all Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs and as the technical expert within the State/Territory responsible for providing technical and functional guidance for serviced Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs. Reviews SASMO Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure they are current (i.e., help desk, repair operations, etc.). Evaluates trouble tickets escalated from the help desk, setting priorities on a weekly and monthly basis.
