The position implements the Coast Guard Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Program in the field, according to guidance provided in Commandant Instruction (COMDTINST) M1754.10 (series), and such other directives as may be issued by competent authorities. The incumbent plans, directs, consults, monitors, coordinates, formulates, organizes, develops, administers, evaluates, trains, networks, publicizes, and budgets all program components including, training, mandatory reporting requirements and a wide range of services involving the SAPR Program in their geographic area of responsibility (AOR).
Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
- Administering, planning, directing, managing, monitoring, educating, developing, implementing, marketing, evaluating, training and consulting, on all aspects of the CG SAPR Program.
- Coordinating and conducting standardized training as required for the SAPR Program in their AOR and in other geographic areas as assigned.
- Providing and coordinating interventions and follow-up on coordination of care as requires in all referrals of sexual assault.
- Providing related reports as required by Commandant Instruction and HSWL SC SOPs.
- Preparing and submitting budget requirements for program operations.
- Providing VA, SARC, leadership, recruit and other related training events throughout the Coast Guard and completed relevant SAPR report as requested by and in collaboration with HSWL SC Work Life Division Chief,
- SAPR PM, and as required by Commandant Instructions and HSWL SC SOPs.
- Coordinating the Victim Witness Assistance Program with legal officers, Coast Guard investigators, DOD officials, victims, and witnesses, consulting with Coast Guard commands to ensure the rights of the individuals are protected.
