Renfrewshire Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Early Learning and Childcare Officer.

The main duties of the post are: to contribute to the provision of a safe, caring and stimulating nursery environment for all children; to contribute and implement a relevant curriculum in line with national and local guidance; to plan, record, implement and evaluate suitable programmes of activities; to maintain and record children’s assessment progress and to promote parental participation.

It is essential you have experience of working or training in an early learning and childcare setting, have an awareness of assessment and documentation of children’s learning in line with national and local guidance and be able to demonstrate an ability to plan and deliver a relevant and inclusive curriculum.

You must be able to demonstrate knowledge of child development and have the ability to work flexibility to meet the needs of the service.

You must hold a relevant practice qualification in early learning and childcare such as HNC in Childhood practice at SCQF level 7 or SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF level 7 or equivalent.

Successful applications, must within the designated timeline, meet the registration requirements of SSSC as Practitioner of Day Care of Children Service.

At Mama Bears, you will be working towards a Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship standard over the course of 15 months!

As an Apprentice you will be trained to undertake the same responsibilities as an Early Years Practitioner (Nursery Nurse).

Duties:

- You will work as part of a team planning, monitoring and evaluating activities for children from birth to approximately five years of age

- You will be responsible for the care and education of the children in the room within a key person structure

- Ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of the children in the room at all times is essential

- You will work to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework

- To support qualified staff with daily routines in the nursery

Your new role

Please note this is for 4 days a week, 30 hours - Days

• To deliver excellent drug and alcohol services to service users with alcohol addiction with significant others, including family members, friends and carers, to facilitate positive outcomes.
• Your focus will be on delivering and developing group/pod work programmes, such as Foundations of Recovery. You will work with other programme facilitators and professionals within your project to design and deliver groups/pods, using evidence-based practice, covering the most appropriate issues for your service users.
• To manage a case load and coordinate and deliver assessment and evidence-based interventions (brief and structured), recovery planning and aftercare planning.
• To work collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring adherence to all the clients' clients' policies and safeguarding principles.
• Deliver harm reduction advice, guidance and education, including delivery programme, brief and extended recovery interventions, blood-borne virus intervention, overdose prevention, including naloxone programmes.

What you'll need to succeed

• Must have experience working with complex clients that have substance misuse addictions.
• Must be available within a weeks notice
• Must Have a Hays DBS or an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service - Please note that Hays will process a new Enhanced DBS should you require one.

School Technician (Science)

Working as a whole school technician you will assist the teaching staff in the work necessary in practical areas of the science department as well as undertaking Audio Visual duties.

Duties include preparing materials, equipment, and teaching resources for use by teachers and students within the science department.

You will assist the teaching staff within the Science department and will support the use of computer aides/teaching resources throughout the school. You will also be required to keep abreast of Health and Safety legislation and to assist if and when required with setting up and maintaining of Audio Visual equipment.

You will provide support to all departments within the school as requested by the Head Teacher or nominee, although you will be based within the Science department. You will also support Audio Visual activities. You will also be responsible for servicing Science practical areas and workrooms, ensuring that all equipment and materials are presented and stored in a safe condition.

It is essential you have experience of working in a science/ audio visual department and an awareness of statutory inspection requirements and Health and Safety law. You must have effective communication and organisational skills and be able to work on your own initiative whilst under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Education to HNC level or equivalent experience and Health and Safety qualifications are desirable as is experience of working in a busy science department.

Renfrewshire Council is looking to recruit enthusiastic and skilled Facilities Operatives who can demonstrate the necessary skills and experience to deliver a high quality, modern Soft Facilities Management service in schools across Renfrewshire.

The successful candidates will have responsibility, at site level for the effective delivery of all aspects of the Soft FM service which includes building cleaning; catering; school crossing patrol; security; and any other related services.

You will have a flexible approach to working hours and have experience of working in a customer focused environment and be willing and enthusiastic to work as part of a team. It is desirable that you have previous Soft FM experience in a similar environment and have a willingness to undertake training.

You must have literacy, numeracy and IT skills and it is desirable that you have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. You must have the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and colleagues.
