Building Services Engineer Corsham, SN13 9NP Permanent, Full Time, 39 hours (8am-5pm Monday-Thursday, 8am-4pm Friday)

Serco have a fantastic opportunity for a Building Services Engineer to join the FM team at our contract in Corsham. As the Building Services Engineer, you will be in a senior engineering position where you will assist in maintenance, repair, and replacement of FM controlled assets within their skill set. We are looking for someone who will be competent with both mechanical and electrical equipment/systems but biased heavily towards electrical.
The role will also manage, and sign-off works carried out through Serco Approved Sub Contractors and mentor the Building Services Technician and Multi Skilled Operative.
In this position you will also work predominately at SGS Colerne but may be required to work at other sites within the contract as deemed necessary at the request of the FM Manager (West).
The role will be required to be part of the “On Call” rota, once training has been completed, where an additional monthly allowance will be paid. Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Deputise and support the Site FM Manager with the maintenance operations on
- Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing equipment, plant and installations utilising the CAFM
- Planned Maintenance system (Agility) as a support tool.
- Assist the Site FM Manager in the Management of sub-contracted planned and reactive maintenance.
- Be the senior on-site engineer supporting the Site FM Manager and other team members as required.
- Act as point of contact and attend site, if necessary, as part of the FM on-call procedure.
- Complete first and second line planned and reactive maintenance tasks on plant and installations within skill set.
- Assist with the management of health and safety ensuring compliance of any activity under FM control.
- Review and take any necessary action of contractor reports for planned maintenance and inspection of works carried out.
- Carry out maintenance of fire alarm system, access control systems and CCTV installations including fault finding, rectification and asset replacement.
- Project Manage small to medium sized FM projects.
- Assist Serco Project managers with projects at the request of the FM Manager.
- Complete statutory periodic inspections
- Assist with the compliance for all internal and external audits.
- Be a qualified First Aider and Fire Warden, for both Colerne and Hawthorn Sites.
- Be responsible for their own H&S and that of others.
- Complete any reasonable task and training as requested by the Site FM Manager
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Qualified Electrician (18th Edition desireable)
- Inspection and test 2391/2 (training will be provided if not held)
- Engineering qualification to BTEC National Diploma or City and Guilds
- First Aid at Work
- Authorized person in electrical, mechanical (training will be provided if not held)
- Must be able to gain SC Security Clearance.
- A valid driving license for car and van.
- IPAF 3a/b license (Desirable – training will be provided if not held)
- A good level of IT and MS Office skills
