RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible to the Aircraft Operations Officer/Air Commander for all matters pertaining to operational readiness and effectiveness of the unit.
2. Directs all operations and maintenance training programs for the Squadron.
3. Instructs or examines pilots in flying proficiency, plans flights and training missions, evaluates pilots, plans course outlines. Ensures the operational readiness and effectiveness of the unit.

The primary purpose of this position is: an Air Reserve Technician (ART) enlisted position. To providing planning, directing, and organizing the Human Resources Military Personnel Section (MPS). Accomplishes a variety of tasks which ultimately results in the MPS's capability to perform its wartime mission and ensures that reservists are properly trained and equipped to provide wartime combat and peacetime Human Resources (Military) support. Incumbent must train reservists in the duties and responsibilities set forth herein.

Duties:
1: Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of Military Personnel Programs, ensuring that Military Personnel Section complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.

2: Establishes, defines, and implements requirements for the military personnel section to ensure operations are in line with regulatory requirements, supports goals, and mission requirements.

3: Participates in special studies and projects related to military personnel programs.

4: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities less than 25% of the time (for positions with less than 5 full-time subordinates).

• Studies the civilian personnel structure and/or functions of organizations and advises or proposes solutions to improve mission readiness and maximize mission accomplishment through effective civilian resource management. Evaluates requirements and guides management through appropriate personnel processes to achieve success.
• Processes all technical requirements (Request for Personnel Actions (RPA) and Non-RPA), civilian records, position designations, and civilian records requirements.
• Keeps current on all civilian personnel programs with wing-wide responsibility to commanders, supervisors, and civilians for maintaining accurate program definition, eligibility, and procedures tracking status and responding to technical issues or inquiries to close task requirements.

• Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. With the 27th Special Operations Maintenance Group (SOMXG) Commander, directs, coordinates, and oversees the work of more than 1600 personnel, comprised of three maintenance squadrons and one maintenance operations support squadron.
• Represents the 27 SOMXG Commander with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with installation command; commanders and deputies of other groups on the installation;
• Manages assigned resources to achieve peak mission support with greatest economy. Analyze operational trends forecasts requirements and identifies shortfalls.
