Your new role
As an SEN / Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and behavioural challenges. You will work closely with the class teacher to implement individualised learning plans and behavioural strategies, ensuring each student can access the curriculum and achieve their potential. Your responsibilities will include providing one-on-one support, assisting with classroom activities, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed as an SEN / Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you should have experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs or behavioural challenges. Patience, empathy, and resilience are crucial, as well as strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals. You should be adaptable and creative in your approach to engaging students and managing behaviour. A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or special needs is needed at atleast level 2.
