We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Building Safety Consultant to join our Building Regulations Advisory team, this could be at Surveyor, Senior/Principal level or a Technical Director.
This role has been created within our Building Safety Unit and is a response to the industry changes which have arisen from the Building Safety Act. This role would suit Building Control professionals or other professionals with Building Control experience.
What does the role involve?
Managing a broad and interesting range of projects you will be a member of a highly motivated team and have responsibility for:
Undertaking Building Regulation assessments of designs to ensure and support compliance in the ongoing design prior to submissions to the Regulator or other relevant Building Control Approver.
Supporting Duty holders with their duties to plan, manage and monitor compliance.
Providing Building Regulations compliance strategies, reports and assistance on the prescribed documents required in gateway 2 submissions to the Building Safety Regulator.
Undertaking site visits, preparing site visit reports, witnessing tests, managing change control and coordination with the inspection team (therefore a full, valid driving licence is essential).
Attending client and design team meetings to give professional advice regarding The Building Regulations and The Building Safety Act.
Be familiar with and use management systems, including complying with the Quality Management system.
Operating in accordance with the commercial requirements of the projects (costs and programme)
To be successful in this role you’ll have a MRICS, MCABE or MCIOB or similar qualification (or be working towards) and have will experience in Building Control either as a BC Surveyor or as part of a design team. You will also have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, alongside the ability to develop the business by introducing new clients and expanding the workload.
