We're recruiting for IT Service Management Apprentices to help us make this change happen.
This is a permanent job where you'll earn as you learn within a DWP team, receive mentoring and work towards your Digital Support Technician Apprenticeship qualification with Ofqual.

How does the apprenticeship work?
As an apprentice you will learn about the techniques used by IT Service Managers and begin to support and contribute to core activities.
You will grow your skills and experience through working with experienced digital experts.
You'll also be helping us deliver products and services that will be used by millions of people, at key times in their lives. You'll be working on real stuff with the power to touch and improve millions of lives
You'll get:
- 20% of your working time to allow you to complete your apprenticeship within your working hours
- Support from your line manager, skills coach and the service management community, as well as fellow apprentices on the programme, so you will have plenty of sources of encouragement to help you succeed.
- You'll have a learning and development journey mapped across the duration of your apprenticeship
There's a lot to learn and do, so you need to be ready to be proactive, work hard and participate in the many opportunities you'll be given to showcase your skills.
It's an 18-month structured apprenticeship, and you'll have chance to work towards recognised certificates, via a recognised provider.
About you - what do you need to apply?
- You have a keen interest in learning and self-development
- You're enthusiastic when it comes to dealing with changes or new challenges
- You can work and communicate well with others
- You have an inquiring mindset - you're interested in finding out more about a situation or problem
- You can make decisions based on the available information and deliver good outcomes
- You will need to have both English and Maths at Grade C/ Level 4 or above at GCSE level or equivalent.
- And you can't hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level in a similar subject
- You will also need to be able to pass Security Check (SC) Clearance for this role. You'll need a minimum of 3 years (ideally 5) continuous residence in the UK in order for us to start these checks.
The apprenticeship is designed to give you the required learning and qualifications become a IT Service Manager professional. You don't need any previous Service Management qualifications or experience.

Location: You'll join us in a brilliant DWP digital hub in your choice of Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield.
We also have all the tech and tools we need to work flexibly, including hybrid working with some time in the office and some time at home.
Pay: We'll pay you £29,500 a year, plus a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth over 28.98% worth over £8,500 a year.
Holidays: And a generous leave package starting at 24 days and rising to 26 days after one year (plus all the usual public holidays, and the ability to take up to 3 days flexi leave a month).
