We are recruiting for a passionate and enthusiastic Hotel and Events Manager to join our incredible Team at The Embankment in Bedford.
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but outstanding communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, dazzling phone skills and a warm personality are a must.
This is a full time role working Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm
Day to Day
· Answering the phone
· Monitoring pub emails, corresponding or forwarding to correct manager
· Meeting and greeting guests into the pub and hotel
· Signing all contractors and visitors into the pub
· Receipting deliveries
· Responding to all booking inquiries ensuring all booking diary and systems are up to date and with as much information in them as possible
· Re-confirming table and room reservations where necessary
ROOMS
· Housekeepers line manager
· Mystery Sleeper champion – ensuring that our housekeepers are maintaining peach room standards
· Daily Room and Communal area Checks.
· Working with Peach central team on occupancy levels, converting bookings and generating leads and new guest relationships
· Training new managers and masters on the basic needs to know for check out, check in’s and making a booking.
· Giving our guests the best check in and check out experience and promoting trip advisor reviews and booking direct with us.
· Cold calling hours on reception to secure new corporate bookings
· Room Consumable ordering
· Keeping relations with suppliers
· Maintaining relationships with travel booking agencies
PUB
· Private Dining Champion…. Booking and liaising with large party bookings, ie weddings
· Meet, greet and show rounds with guests.
· Weekly chefs diary of any pre orders or kitchen need to knows.
· Hold weekly meetings with HC and GM to discuss upcoming bookings and events and any specific menu requests and pricing.
· Hold monthly performance reviews against budgeted targets with GM to discuss opportunities and plan quarterly events diary
· Menu Change – Tills, changeover of menus in pub and rooms, ensuring a smooth flow, pricing complete and accurate and team training in advance for all new dishes and drinks
· Support team on service when needed and available.
· Event host on large bookings to be the main point of contact from initial enquiry to delivery
