Key Responsibilities:

• Client Management: Oversee an assigned portfolio, ensuring compliance with UK tax obligations, explaining reporting requirements, and notifying clients of deadlines.
• Client Correspondence: Address client inquiries and gather necessary information for annual filings, coordinating with internal teams (Accounts, Business Management & Payroll).
• Tax Return Preparation: Prepare complex UK tax returns, ensuring accurate information capture, analysis, and communication of tax implications to senior management or clients.
• Advisory Support: Review and draft initial tax advisory work for individuals while assisting management with complex advisory tasks.

Attributes, Requirements, Skills:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a personal tax role, particularly with Owner Managed Businesses. ATT and CTA qualifications are preferred or candidates must be willing to pursue these with on-the-job training provided.
• Technical Acumen: Ability to understand technical concepts and a strong interest in researching legislation for client responses.

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Estimator to join our Power Transmission & Distribution business. The candidate will primarily be focussed on estimating for projects associated with Multi-Utility works covering Power, Gas, Water and Telecoms projects, for end clients such as HS2 and National Highways.

What you'll be doing

• To have strategic responsibility for the Multi-Utility estimating function which includes Bid Management and Estimating duties.
• To lead Multi-Utility estimating team in producing competitive, thorough, well researched bids and estimates.
• To oversee the parts of the gated business lifecycle that relate to work winning (stages 1-4).
• To support Business Development with client management, engagement and developing work winning opportunities.
• To identify and implement procedural changes to Bid Management and Estimating process and systems.
• To liaise with other Enabling functions such as Business Development, Engineering, Planning, Operations, Commercial etc.
• To ensure Balfour Beatty’s Code of Conduct is thoroughly understood, adhered to and promoted across the business to ensure safe, compliant and consistent working practices.

About the College/Department

The School of Psychology was established in 2020 and is situated within the College of Health, Psychology and Social Care. The School is home to our two Discipline areas of Psychological and Behavioural Sciences (PBS) and Professional Psychological Practice (PPP). About the Role

We are excited to be able to advertise this role for a senior academic in health psychology with considerable experience in higher education. You will contribute to the academic leadership and delivery of our MSc Health Psychology programmes and to the research profile of the School of Psychology, including applied health psychology research.

As we grow our health psychology provision, this role will include oversight, leadership and development of our campus and online programmes, working with the Head of Discipline, senior academics and the wider teaching team to ensure continuation of excellent student experience and outcomes.

The role will include leading and supporting our marketing events (e.g., open days) which occasionally take place into evenings and at weekends.

The School of Psychology has an active research agenda, and you will be expected to engage with and support financially sustainable research and/or other appropriate academic activity.

There will be opportunity for working from home as agreed with the Head of Discipline. We do support hybrid working as business needs permit. There is currently no requirement for line management in this role. We are advertising this as a full-time position but would be happy to consider candidates who would prefer part time.

About You

To be successful in this role you should have experience of curriculum development and design, and significant teaching experience in health psychology. You should already hold FHEA and may hold SFHEA (or be willing to work towards this). You should have a track record of high quality and impactful research and be able to demonstrate engagement with industry in the development of research. You should also be able to demonstrate a track record in securing external funding. Excellence in communication, team and collaborative working are essential, both internally and externally.

Being a HCPC registered (or eligible) Practitioner Psychologist (health domain) is desirable for this role but not essential.
