Support the Reward Lead in coordinating, coaching and overseeing the project team. Enabling the team to be proactive and provide consistent advice across services. Support the delivery of a complex, large-scale and contentious project.

Key Responsibilities:

Proactively manage and take decisions in relation to salary supplements in line with the agreed policies and procedures.
Work in collaboration with the Senior HR Adviser to supervise Project Officers and Business Support colleagues, to provide a high performing Reward team, providing insight, advice, and solutions around all areas of the project.
Support the Reward Lead in coordinating and implementing the development of People and Culture policies within the Reward team.
Lead and drive the implementation of a colleague benefits package and recognition platform.
Monitor trends in pay and reward across the public and private sector, considering salary benchmarking across the region, monitoring how other councils are approaching ‘hard to fill or retain’ roles, making recommendations to influence decision making.
Facilitate colleague information sessions, roadshows, spotlights or other events.
Lead and facilitate analysis and reporting, including equalities, diversity and inclusion data to understand and influence business as usual approaches, and decision making across the area of responsibility.
Support the design of a package to coach, train and develop managers and enable them to support the implementation of the new reward strategy.

Qualifications:

Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
Advanced relevant professional qualification with clearly evidenced continuous professional development demonstrating an understanding of best practice and a broader commercial awareness.



Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Experience in supervising and coaching a team.
Experience in Local Government and unionised environment.
Experience of maintaining positive relations, providing complex advice and support to strategic stakeholders.
Strong communication and influencing skills.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).

What you’ll be doing:
• Providing effective and efficient administrative support to the school office.
• Assisting with a range of support and development functions across the school.
• Providing a welcoming and efficient ‘Front of House’ role for the school.
• Provide an administrative support function for staff at the school.
• Act as Personal Assistant resource where needed to the school’s Senior Leadership Team.
• Complete administration tasks for specific development work incl completing and updating work planners, diaries, calenders etc.
• Minute taking for a variety of meetings.
• Administration and electronic communication and filing.
• Supporting internal governance functions.
• Provide administrative support to the SENCO, incl. attending Annual Reviews of EHCP’s and updating documents/records as required.
• Line Management of School Administrators (x 2), lunchtime facilitator(s), domestic assistant(s), maintenance staff.
• To oversee, audit and assure the administration of the school’s finances and ensure spending remains aligned to budget.
• To oversee the accuracy and maintenance of core school office systems and requirements.
• To oversee and lead the administration of staff-related tasks such as recruitment and new starters, payroll.
• To oversee and co-ordinate facility management related duties and tasks.

Who you are:
• You will have experience of delivering effective and supportive line management with emphasis on developing skills and achieving overall targets/objectives.
• Have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft office package.
• Able to self-direct and prioritise workload according to shifting demands.
• Significant experience in administration tasks.
• You will demonstrate a professional and independent approach with a warm and engaging manner.

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:
Play a lead role in the management of administrative support services to students and staff relating to the choice of subject, admission and examination of students by relevant external bodies.
Manage all arrangements for all public examination entries e.g. GCSE / GCE / BTEC and equivalent and ensure that these are conducted in accordance with Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) and examination board regulations.
Ensure the necessary Exams related policies and procedures are created, updated and reviewed annually and shared across both Twynham and The Grange Schools.
Manage all arrangements for all internal examinations.
Organise the examination timetable and related resources and accommodation within the school.
Recruit, train and direct the shared invigilator pool across both Twynham and The Grange schools.
Manage the exams budget for Twynham School ensuring all spends are monitored and tracked against this.
Line manage the Exams Administrative staff shared across both Twynham and The Grange schools.
Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.
