The Risk Solutions group within Blackstone’s Global Treasury team is responsible for analysis, execution and portfolio management for risk management initiatives across Blackstone’s corporate balance sheet and multiple Blackstone business lines. The central functions of the Risk Solutions group are:
Derivatives Trading and Risk Management
- Support FX, Interest Rate and other derivatives trade execution and transaction flow for Blackstone, its funds and portfolio companies.
- Partner with investment teams in analyzing hedging strategies to mitigate risk (FX, interest rates, etc.) at both the fund and portfolio company levels.
- Assist in the monitoring of FX, interest rate and other market exposures for the corporate balance sheet and funds.
- Engage with Insurance Solutions to advise on risk mitigation of insurance clients and their investments.
- Manage portfolio of interest rate hedges for structured debt and equity investments as well as on behalf of select insurance clients.
- Work with Real Estate teams to provide FX and Interest Rate risk mitigation across closed and open-ended funds and related properties.
- Assist with credit and KYC requests from banking partners to support trading accounts
- Advise in other risk management conversations across the Firm as required.
- Support liquidity, capital markets, and credit initiatives for Blackstone and its funds.
- Track and maintain Fee Wallet data as it relates to derivatives trading across the firm.
- Manage bank relationships and maintain good relationships with counterparties.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the Firm in Capital Markets, Finance, Operations, Treasury, deal teams etc.
Qualifications
Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, the successful candidate should have:
5-10 years of related experience
Prior experience in derivatives, capital markets, or structured finance are preferred
Independent, highly organized and keen attention to details
Strong presentation skills; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and handle multiple projects while prioritizing deliverables and meeting demanding deadlines
Results-oriented, with the ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude
Highly self-motivated and intelligent with the ability to work effectively in a team environment; proactive and takes initiative
Ability to “see the bigger picture” and get to the heart of issues rapidly
Relationship building skills with internal and external counterparties
Strong work ethic; genuine passion for excellence
Personal and professional integrity
Highly proficient in Excel, Bloomberg, PowerPoint and Word; experience with Tableau VBA, Python or other programming languages is a plus
