SEND Learning Support Assistant – BG7 (TTO pro rata)
Contract: This is a temporary post to start as soon as possible.
Our Lady of the Rosary Primary School currently has a vacancy for a full-time LSA for 32.5 hours a week. The successful candidate will be timetabled to work both as a Class LSA and as a 1:1 support with SEND pupils across the primary range. Experience of the classroom environment, knowledge of phonics, working with pupils with an ASC diagnosis, developmental delay and knowledge of Attention Autism and PECs would be desirable. Training and support will be provided as appropriate.
You will be joining a friendly, open, welcoming team working within the school. We are looking for someone with a passion for setting high expectations and aspirations for all children and especially those with SEND. Experience of supporting class teachers in differentiating a curriculum to support children’s needs and an understanding of approaches to develop self-esteem is important. Patience, empathy and a nurturing approach along with the ability to think on your feet and be flexible are all characteristics which will come naturally to you.
The role is for 32.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.30 pm with a half an hour unpaid lunch break. Part of your role will also be a ½ hour lunchtime duty.

Knowle DGE is a specialist Academy for young people from Key Stages 1-5 who have an Education, Health and Care Plan with needs in the areas of Social, Emotional and Mental Health and/or Speech, Language and Communication needs (including learners on the Autistic Spectrum.) An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Learning Facilitator to join our team. The role involves supporting young people between the ages of 6-18 successfully engage in learning, helping them to develop academically, socially and emotionally. We are looking for people who have vision, imagination and who are passionate about learning, raising standards and supporting quality teaching. This role would be suitable for someone with previous Teaching Assistant experience or for someone with experience in youth work or care who would like to move into education.

North Star 240° is a secondary provision within the North Star Academy Trust based in North Bristol specialising in supporting pupils experiencing social, emotional and mental health difficulties. We aim to be part of a joined-up provision offering our pupils the outstanding education they deserve.
We have a permanent and fixed term position available for committed and high-quality Learning Support Assistants to provide support to the class teacher in groups or to individual children.
You will be required to work 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per annum. Actual salary £22,231 - £23,800 p.a.
The successful candidate will be joining a positive, solution-focused team of staff who are dedicated to help improve outcomes for vulnerable pupils.
The successful applicants will have:
A good understanding of the KS3 curriculum.
At least one years’ experience of working in a learning/childcare setting.
The ability to support reading and phonics for those students at the early stages of reading.
The ability to support our programme of extra-curricular activities.
A flexible, adaptable and positive attitude to working in a structured environment.
The ability to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders.
The skills of empathy, listening, communication and the ability to respond to unexpressed need.
A willingness to undertake the further training that will be offered.
