Based at the Royal Devon and Exeter (Wonford) site, the role is diverse and the post-holder will be responsible for providing support and practical advice to the bereaved, assisting with post mortem examinations, reconstruction of the deceased and supporting the corneal retrieval scheme by performing enucleations. Other duties include being involved in a full range of Mortuary and Bereavement service roles such as admitting and releasing of patients to funeral services, administrative duties and maintaining the cleanliness of the department. About you

As an experienced multi-skilled engineer you’ll be qualified in electrical and mechanical engineering (minimum ONC Electrical Engineering / NVQ Level 3 – or equivalent). Understanding Health & Safety legislation, you’ll have first-hand experience of maintaining automation equipment, ideally Programme Logic Controllers (PLC), along with a flexible approach and the ability to communicate complex issues effectively.

You are required to have a full UK driving licence as on occasion you may be asked to travel to other sites.

As a team they will improve the quality of teaching, learning, curriculum and intervention in English across the Trust’s secondary schools, through embedding best practice and building capacity in line with the Trust’s policies and frameworks.

The successful candidate will help drive improvements in English attainment across all our schools, by skilfully co-ordinating and supporting both curriculum intent and implementation in English at designated schools. They would also lead the development and successful implementation of the Trust’s Reading Strategy.

As Assistant English School Improvement Lead, you would be deployed across our schools located in five key regions: Lancashire, Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire, West Midlands, and London.

You will have:

• An English degree along with Qualified Teacher Status.
• A National Professional Qualification (NPQ) in middle or senior leadership.
• An in-depth knowledge of the AQA specification in GCSE English Language and Literature.
• Experience of delivering outstanding results consistently and a track record of improving results as a subject leader.
• Experience of developing and delivering high impact intervention programmes.
• An ability to analyse assessment data and use it effectively to identify and close gaps in learning.
• Successfully delivered training and coaching for English teachers.
• A passion for securing life-changing outcomes for young people in disadvantaged communities.

What skills and experience we're looking for

• Experience of producing agendas and accurate, concise minutes, meeting statutory requirements
• Experience of producing, collating and circulating documents to meet strict deadlines
• Previous experience of working in a school/Trust environment
• Previous governance experience, either within education or other sector
• Knowledge of school governance procedures

We are looking for ambitious governance professional looking to develop their career at a senior level within a growing trust.

As part of the Corporate Affairs Team, the Senior Governance Professional will provide support to schools’ local governing bodies (LGBs) and also Trustees on the main board. As well as supporting LGBs personally, the postholder will co-ordinate the work of a small number of governance clerks. The postholder will also work closely with the Director of Corporate Affairs to support the main Trust Board and its committees.

The Trust is currently undertaking a governance review to streamline processes to ensure that they remain appropriate for a growing Trust. The postholder will contribute to the design and implementation of that review.
