Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) for Plywood, Wood, & Furniture will play a crucial role in driving growth and expanding the company’s market presence. This position requires a strategic thinker with in-depth knowledge of the plywood, wood, and furniture industry, who can identify new business opportunities, forge strong relationships with clients, and lead initiatives that enhance revenue generation. The BDM will work closely with the sales, marketing, and product development teams to align strategies and meet organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Market Research & Analysis:
• Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape within the plywood, wood, and furniture sectors.
• Analyse data to develop strategies for market entry and expansion, identifying potential areas for growth and new market opportunities.
• Business Strategy Development:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aimed at increasing market share and achieving revenue targets.
• Collaborate with senior management to set sales targets, forecast business growth, and allocate resources effectively.
• Client Relationship Management:
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders.
• Act as the primary point of contact for major clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction with the company’s products and services.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure new business deals.
• Sales & Revenue Growth:
• Drive the sales process from lead generation to closing deals, ensuring that sales targets are met or exceeded.
• Develop and execute sales strategies, including direct sales, partnerships, and distribution channels.
• Monitor sales performance and report on progress to senior management.
• Product Development & Innovation:
• Work closely with the product development team to identify opportunities for new products or improvements to existing products based on market demand.
• Provide feedback and insights from clients and market research to guide product innovation and development.
• Marketing & Brand Positioning:
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute marketing campaigns that effectively promote the company’s products and brand in the target markets.
• Participate in industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to enhance the company’s visibility and reputation.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration:
• Lead, mentor, and motivate the business development team to achieve objectives and drive performance.
• Foster a collaborative environment between business development, sales, marketing, and product development teams to ensure alignment of goggals.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
• Proven experience (10+ years) in business development, sales, or a similar role within the plywood, wood, or furniture industry.
• Strong knowledge of the plywood, wood, and furniture markets, including key players, trends, and challenges.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in CRM software and other business development tools.
• Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
