Salary: Grade 6 SCP 19-25 (£29,777 - £33,945) + SEN Allowance Pro Rata
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time only)
Part of the working week will include attending a weekly professional development session every Wednesday after school.

We are looking to appoint a pro-active, enthusiastic and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant to contribute to, and lead teaching and learning experiences in our Local Authority SRB class. There will be twelve highly complex pupils with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs in the class in September, the pupils attending the SRB class will be referred from other schools within the authority. We are looking to widen our staff team in this SRB provision, this is a challenging, yet rewarding role in our school.
The ideal candidates will have experience of managing children with Emotional Health and Wellbeing Needs, and must be able to demonstrate the ability to focus on wellbeing and positive behaviour management with nurture principles at its core. They will also have experience of numerous interventions that take account of a variety of learning styles and needs.
The ability to contribute to the nurturing, community focussed ethos of the school is essential. The successful candidate should also be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. They must also be able to show initiative, adaptability and the ability to meet the needs of all learners.
Main tasks, duties and responsibilities will include:
- To manage, plan and resource a classroom which will encourage the development of all aspects of children’s learning. In particular, to encourage independent use of resources and involvement in their learning
- Provide a stimulating classroom environment, relevant to the interests and development needs of the pupils
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, ensuring appropriate records have been kept.
- To act as a lead and report on children’s progress and attainment to all stakeholders, including parents/carers.
- To perform and keep records of observations, using information gathered to inform individual pupil targets, lesson planning and the preparation of activities
- Contribute to the school’s Performance Management process, supporting colleagues as required
- Manage and deploy colleagues and support staff where required
- Play a full part in the life of the school community, supporting the ethos of the school.
- Comply with school policies and procedures in areas such as assessment, marking, behaviour management and communication with parents, planning, staff meetings and parental events
- Communicate and cooperate with specialists from outside agencies
