Job Description
The Director, Product Management will be responsible for the technical and commercial development of Visa’s Flexible Credentials approach in AP, working in collaboration with Global Product Management to deliver an integrated, digital payment experience for consumers enabling multiple funding sources, and payment modes including, Debit, Credit, Prepaid, Instalments, Loyalty points and more besides, to be linked together in a single digital-first experience. New, digital user experiences will be delivered as part of our overall “Modern Credential” concept which seeks to additionally incorporate easy-to-use, mobile-based payment account management and control. The Director will also work closely with the Solution Commercialization group to develop and execute a rigorous go-to-market (GTM) plan to deploy new Flex Credential propositions across Asia Pacific as well as gather new requirements and form a product development roadmap to meet client and consumer needs in the region.
Reporting to the SD, Modern Credentials in AP, as part of the Consumer Solutions group, the Director will be a key, visible product leader in the region and as such will need to provide thought leadership, subject matter expertise, management of direct and indirect reports as well as rigorous process and budget management experience to the role.
Visa has launched the first generation of Flex Credentials in AP and is committed to proliferating seamless, multi-account, digital access to payments via mobile form factors. As part of this objective, the role-holder will lead the process of gathering, evaluating and prioritizing product requirements, building a business case for new product features and platforms and executing the build and readiness activities to deliver these solutions.
The role-holder will lead the development of a compelling commercial proposition for each market execution, market sizing, internal and external narrative development, pricing strategy, the approach to IRF and client economics as well as product tech development.
The Director will work assist the SD, Modern Credentials closely to align the Visa Technology and Design & Architecture teams on Flex delivery in line with the overall Modern Credential plan and will similarly assist in underpinning these efforts across key stakeholder groups such as Finance, Client Services, Legal, Compliance, Marketing etc.
Additionally, the Director should be able to participate in technical discussions with both internal and Client technology stakeholders and advocate for the most effective and efficient technical architecture and implementation methodologies to expedite product delivery.
Naturally, the Director will be highly collaborative, possess strong program management experience and have solid technical product development experience as well as strong commercial understand. The role holder will also need to be experienced in working across markets, cultures and areas of specialism within Visa and client organizations.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
• 8-10 years of leadership experience in the payments or consulting industries with a predominant focus on product development, product management & strategy
• Direct experience in financial services, fintechs and card portfolio management will be an advantage
• Strong and demonstrable experience of engaging on and leading technical product development, issue resolution and tech architecture development is needed in this role
• Experience in the deployment and management of technology based financial services platorms and products will be advantageous (e.g. instalments, Visa Direct, Loyalty Solutions etc.)
• Proven experience in program and project management in a matrix, multi-country, and multi-cultural environment is essential.
• Proven business acumen, analytical skills and keen understanding of new technology payment business models and profitability drivers
• Understanding of network product, rules, product stack & functionalities technology will be advantageous
• Good balance between strategic thinking and detailed, flawless execution with attention to detail.
