Duties of the Post:
The duties of the post, some of which will require physical effort such as standing for long periods, walking distances, climbing stairs, bending, stretching and lifting, pushing and pulling, using cleaning and maintenance equipment and driving university transport, will include the following:
1. The cleaning and preparation of various areas in the academic and associated buildings, including theatre spaces.
2. Complying with the requirements of Data Protection by ensuring confidentiality when dealing with staff or keeping records.
3. Refuse and recycling collection and cleaning of external areas.
4. Drive University owned vehicles when required.
5. Fault reporting.
6. Attend training programmes relevant to the role.
7. Coordinate the work of the cleaning team.
When deputising for the Manager the duties will include, but are not limited to:
8. Undertake quality control inspections, including those for health and safety checks, repairs and maintenance, and equipment safety and report findings to Specialist/Team Clean Manager.
9. Co-ordinate the work of the cleaning ream. This will include arranging cover in the event of absence and annual leave.

10. Collate monthly stores orders for the cleaning team.
Customer Service
11. Proactively feed innovative ideas into the Team Clean Manager to progress the operational service and improve customer service.
12. Have a positive and co-operative relationship with all colleagues, customers and visitors.
13. Flexibility in relation to university key events, such as, Visit Days, Graduation and Christmas rubbish collection.
14. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Head of Soft FM Services or their nominee.

The main duties of the post will include:
1. To be responsible for food production and presentation to a high standard and ensure this standard is maintained throughout the business.
2. To cook across our catering units as required.
3. To maintain control of portion size and ensure waste to be minimised.
4. Replenishing fresh food stock throughout the day, ensuring a smooth service delivery at all times and assisting with the ordering of stock.
5. Maintain and uphold high standards of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness in the kitchen and to ensure that current legislative requirements are being met.

The post holder will be responsible for cleaning various areas within the University’s academic, residential, and associated buildings. They will also provide assistance to other groups within the Soft FM Services team particularly during the preparation and delivery of University events.
