The University of Central Lancashire is currently seeking to recruit a Facilities Operations Manager to join our growing Estates and Campus Services team based at our Burnley Campus.
Reporting to the Head of Facilities Management who is based at Preston; this is a new role providing the primary point of contact and coordination for all Estates and Facilities Management services at our Burnley Campus, which include security, cleaning, catering, maintenance, caretaking and on-site Health and Safety.
Our Burnley Campus is based just outside the town centre and consist of 4 buildings:
Newtown Mill – 4,500m2 (opening 2025)
Victoria Mill – 6,523m2
Sandygate Mill – 1,446m2
Sandygate Hall – 5,300m2
The buildings provide teaching, office, social, commercial, and residential accommodation to University staff and students.
The post holder will be responsible for developing and maintaining a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and sustainable environment for all who study, work, or live at Burnley Campus, including students, staff, visitors and partners – contributing to the attraction, recruitment and retention of students and staff. Most of the technical service delivery at the Burnley Campus will be via our appointed FM Contractor; but the post holder must have a full understanding of hard and soft services delivery and the associated compliance systems.
You will receive technical and management support from the central team at the main Preston Campus, however it is important to note that this role will be expected to take operational decisions at the Burnley Campus on a day-to-day basis; including coordinating the initial estates and facilities management response to incidents and emergencies during evenings and weekends.
The successful candidate will have an NVQ Level 4 in Facilities Management and hold a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (or be working towards it) You will also have significant experience in a senior facilities management role and a sound knowledge and understanding of statutory legislation and current best practice relating to estates and facilities management. Your technical competence, qualifications and experience are vitally important to this role; however it will be your leadership style and ability to motivate and engage your team that will make you stand out above other candidates.
You will be confident in interacting with a wide range of stakeholders, as you will be responsible for maintaining effective working relations with a wide range of stakeholders.

The post holder will play a key role in co-ordinating the Admissions process for a range of applicants, from application to enrolment and ensuring compliance with the University’s Admissions Policy and Code of Practice and to meet University targets. The University of Central Lancashire wishes to recruit a new Customer Service Attendants within the Library Service. You will be responsible for providing a welcoming and safe environment for all our users and visitors and providing an attendant role. The role is is 8am - to 4 pm and 10 am – 6pm alternating weekly.

The successful candidate will focus on our reception service but will be supporting students to make the very best of their time at the University by provide a high level, effective customer support service, covering in-person queries, as well as those received via email or over the phone you will also provide a rapid response to incidents and emergencies and evacuations in accordance with Standard Operational Procedures and policies

Applicants will hold 5 GCSE’s or equivalent qualification or significant, relevant professional experience or experiential learning.

You will patrol the building and ensure that the library is secure, and welcoming environment to all customers. Be proactive in communicating Library rules particularly in relation to noise, use of study rooms and hot food. You will also be responsibly in helping keep the building tidy and clean.

You will need to be fit and active as this role will also require you to help with the continual movement of library stock which includes helping with our self service machine and shelving items and occasional helping with the step up of areas for events.

The successful candidate will be primarily focused on supporting undergraduate classes and research within our state of the art clinical facilities. Duties will include the set up and preparation of clinical laboratories/workshops, providing day to day technical support and advice to staff and students studying a diverse range of subjects in the clinical and science areas.

The primary function of this role is to ensure delivery of a wide range of clinical courses. The successful candidate will help to coordinate and undertake maintenance and configuration of equipment and relevant software, as well as giving assistance with the introduction of new technologies, procedures, and practices. Familiarity with clinical instruments relevant to the disciplines will also be advantageous.

The successful candidate should have an A ‘level in a Science subject or equivalent experiential learning in a related discipline. They should also have experience of preparing, supporting, and clearing away clinical workshop/laboratory environments. Candidates must also have good verbal and written communication.

Experience in a customer facing technology support role is also desirable. Candidates need have a keen interest in science and technology, supported by great customer service skills. The ability to adapt knowledge and experience to support staff and students across the wide range of subjects and disciplines we support would be a distinct advantage. However, training and support will be provided for the successful candidate if necessary.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the School of Health, Social Work and Sport, for a Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology. We are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic, dynamic and passionate about delivering and enhancing the Sport and Exercise Psychology provision offered to students on Sport and Exercise Science programmes. Extensive practical and theoretical knowledge in the subject area is essential, as is relevant work experience and professional qualifications. A first degree in Sport Science, Psychology or a related discipline is essential with expertise in sport and exercise psychology. A PhD or a MSc qualification and evidence of being capable of doctoral level study is also essential. A teaching qualification or the capability and willingness to achieve this qualification within a defined timescale are also essential. Registration as a Sport and Exercise Psychologist is desirable. In addition, you must either hold a teaching qualification or be willing to undertake a University teaching qualification on appointment.

An opportunity has arisen for a Receptionist to join the University of Central Lancashire, who will act as the first point of contact to all visitors to the Vice-Chancellor’s Office.

The School of Dentistry requires a full time Dental Nurse to join our onsite clinic-based team. This role requires a suitably qualified, GDC registered dental nurse to work flexibly providing nursing across our clinical teaching activities, patient based regulated activities, supporting external epidemiology studies and oral health promotion. The successful candidate will have a National Certificate of the Examining Board for Dental Nurses or NVQ level 3 qualification.

This role is 36.25 hrs worked over 4 days on a 5-day rota period between 8:30 am – 6:30 pm. Candidates will need to evidence experience in a busy dental environment, possess knowledge of dental software; preferably SOE and evidence of continuing professional development.

Nurse roles within clinic predominantly provide chairside set up and support for the teaching programs including implantology, periodontology, endodontology, oral surgery. Tasks include but are not limited to:

Comply with all relevant policies, procedures, and update training.
Supporting and assisting the range of clinicians onsite (Dentist, Therapist, Hygienist visiting academics or students).
Provide pre and postoperative advice and instruction for dental procedures.
Preparation of clinical areas including instrument sterilization, cross infection control and all relevant information, equipment, and materials in readiness for the treatment of patients.
Student induction deliver.
