The Post

The Trustees are seeking to appoint an Assistant Head of Year (AHOY) as soon as possible to provide a complementary service to existing teachers and pastoral staff within the School. The post will address the needs of children, supporting them in overcoming barriers to learning and enabling them to achieve their full potential, thereby supporting the School to raise standards of achievement, improvement, attendance and raise standards of behaviour.

The successful candidate needs to be proactive, approachable and a good listener and act as a positive role model to students. A good standard of Education (Level 3) together with good numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE English and Maths or equivalent) are required and at least 2 years’ experience of working with secondary school students is desirable. You will be a joining a successful pastoral and behaviour team which will expand further as the school grows.

This is a term time only role with two staff development days.

St Simon Stock Catholic School wishes to appoint a Caretaker who is pro-active, adaptable, efficient and able to undertake lifting and carrying to join our team. What skills and experience we're looking for

The Attendance Administrator ensures accurate recording and monitoring of student attendance, addressing any issues promptly. This includes managing daily attendance data, contacting parents about absences or lateness, and promoting good attendance habits. The role also involves liaising with staff and external agencies, producing reports, and supporting school policies on safeguarding and GDPR.

Strong IT skills are essential and a knowledge of SIMS (Schools Information Management System). Previous administration experience is highly desirable and experience of working in a school environment would be an advantage. Candidates should have a confident, helpful and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Record daily attendance and resolve missing data.

Contact parents about absences or lateness.

Monitor attendance and escalate concerns.

Process holiday requests and issue related correspondence.

As the Lead Practitioner for history, you will work in a small team of teachers supporting the wider department. What skills and experience we're looking for

The Hearing Impaired Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) at the Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy have been offering support to Hearing Impaired children for over 20 years working primarily with an aural/oral approach, with sign support for some children. We are highly successful and skilled at what we do and now have a rare opportunity to appoint a qualified Teacher of the Deaf to join our provision. We are looking for a dynamic and proactive Teacher of the Deaf to join our forward thinking school. This is a fantastic time to join us; the academy has gone from strength to strength and to continue with its development, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated teacher to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching deaf and hearing impaired students in one-to-one work, in small groups, mainstream lessons and in many other aspects of academy life, whilst encouraging students you work closely with to become independent learners. They will also facilitate personal, social and intellectual development of those with hearing loss. This role would suit an experienced teacher of the deaf with relevant hearing impairment qualifications. The successful candidate will join an established hearing Impairment team, offering specialist resource provision to those with hearing impairment within a large SEND department. We would welcome applications from those who are qualified hearing impairment specialists and hold British Sign Language level two or above.

This is a full-time, Maternity Cover contract for 1 academic year offering MPS/UPS, based on experience + London Fringe Allowance + SEN 1 Allowance (£2,675).
