Teaching PE Responsibilities:
• To plan, deliver and assess appropriate lessons which ensure that the potential of all students is fulfilled.
• To contribute positively and accept delegation, with colleagues, to the production, implementation and evaluation of department Schemes of Work and resources.
• To encourage students by regular marking, advising constructively by using targets and giving appropriate praise.
• To be aware of individual students’ needs, whether they are academic or social, and liaise with support staff when necessary.
• To monitor assessment through use of data and target setting, and to maintain records of assessments of the students.

• To ensure equality of students regardless of ability, age, class, culture, disability, faith, gender, race or sexual identity.
• To follow the ethos of the Forge School by promoting high standards of all students and maintaining high expectations both in and out of lessons.

• Liaison with national DofE authority
• Renewal and updating relevant licences and risk assessments
• Promoting the Award in School amongst students
• To plan a programme of activities that is suitable for each group or young person that you work with and that reflects their needs and experience.
• Maintenance of student log books, including signing off where appropriate
• Monitoring student progress in meeting with requirements for service, skills and physical recreation
• Arranging and facilitating opportunities for students to take part in activities which can contribute to service, skills and physical recreation
• Arranging practise and qualifying expeditions including liaison with tutors, year managers and expedition leaders for group planning, including providing materials
• Maintenance of expedition equipment and purchase of new equipment as necessary
• Accompanying and supporting expeditions
Outdoor Education
Key Responsibilities Will Include
• Creating a bespoke timetable including off site activities
• Facilitating both indoor and outdoor learning experiences to enhance students’ wellbeing.
• Making use of the great outdoor space on site and on-site facilities to help engagement.
• To plan a programme of activities that is suitable for each group or young person that you work with and that reflects their needs and experience.
• To ensure that you have the correct equipment and qualification to supervise any activity you lead.
• To ensure that all activities have a risk assessment and continue to assess the changing nature of the risk each time you work with a group or individual young person, this should include obtaining an up to date and relevant weather forecast.
• To ensure that all records are kept up to date.
• Always ensure the safety of participants, following industry-standard protocols and procedures.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive environment, encouraging participants to step out of their comfort zones and embrace new challenges.
• Provide clear and engaging instruction, adapting your approach to suit the needs and abilities of different groups.
• Inspire and motivate participants to develop their skills, build confidence, and foster a love for outdoor activities.
