The school community at Bohunt is a happy one. The very great majority of pupils and students behave sensibly, support each other and develop exceptionally well as young people. Pupils behave very well. Ready for learning on entering lessons, they follow the expected routines and staff instructions. Excellent support is provided to any pupils needing help to behave well. – Ofsted, March 2024.
A rare opportunity has arisen to join the well-established and high performing Leadership Group at Bohunt School. Joining our team of 7, and well supported by the roles of Head of Upper School, Head of Lower School, 12 Heads of House, 60 tutors, over 120 teachers and a vast array of highly qualified and experienced non-teaching staff, we are seeking to appoint a talented leader to have the enviable role of working on student culture.

- And, have line management of both curriculum and welfare areas
In return, you will need to be:
- Student-centred, knowing that every child deserves success
- Enthusiastic, resilient and an excellent communicator
- A team-player, but also a self-starter who sees things through to completion
- Strategic in how you think and what you do
- Experienced in a pastoral role.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with assertiveness as well as empathy to students. Being able to build and maintain mutually respectful relationships with staff, parents, and students alike is essential.
We know that leading in education is hard, but it is also immeasurably rewarding. We go the extra mile to support all our staff and leaders so that they can succeed. Read on for just a few of the myriad reasons why you would be mad not to join us:
• Our greatest strength is our people and we work hard to make sure you know that. Well-being is central to all we do – we have two dedicated reflection days for staff, early finishes for you to take the time you need, and, this year, we are trialling a two-week autumn break
• Our students are exceptional: bright, inquisitive, respectful and diligent; they provide an environment where you can teach, and realise your leadership potential.
• Not to mention the end of term social events, Easter eggs, advent calendars, and summer BBQ. Staff well-being and making work an exciting place to be are at our core.
