What skills and experience we're looking for
About the role
The Learning Support Assistant role at The Castle school offers variety and challenge. Within this role you will be working within a strong team of staff who are focused on supporting teaching and learning within the classroom to benefit all students with additional needs. Your role outside the classroom is also key, as you will be liaising with parents and carers and developing and reviewing individual learning plans for a small group of students.
About you
The ideal Learning Support Assistant will reinforce the excellent work of the teaching staff by supporting the individual both within and outside of the classroom environment. You will be a professional role model to the pupils, with the confidence to challenge and the creativity to motivate. You will also provide planned bespoke interventions with groups of children across the school.
You will be:
• keen to learn with a positive outlook
• able to work on your own initiative
• experienced in working with children
• able to work as part of a team
• willing to undertake training
• enthusiastic and have the skills to challenge and motivate all our pupils.
• able to cope with challenge and competing demands on your time
• resilient, creative and able to ‘think outside the box’
