That’s Amore Cheese, an Australian company leader in Italian style cheese is currently seeking a talented and eager Chef to join our Cheesery!

The role is full time
Salary depends on experience ranging from $70,000-75,000

Our menu includes many Italian dishes with a modern touch. Our cheeses are often protagonists in these dishes and the possibilities to pair them with new ingredients are vast and we encourage our team to do so.

We have a cafe on-site, along side our factory producing cheese. We are open for breakfast and lunch 7 days a week.

The chef we are looking for will be available 5 days between Monday to Sunday, must be available for weekday and weekend starting from 7:30am until 5pm. 2 days off per week.

The successful candidate will have:

Experience with cooking breakfast and lunch menu
The ability to execute our menu with precision and creativity whilst maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
Contribute to the development of new menu items and fortnightly specials
Experience with Italian food, or willing to learn
Cool under pressure, well-organised, and punctual
We are looking for a chef with any level of experience

That’s Amore Cheese is looking for a passionate and skilled Cook to join our team in Thomastown and contribute to creating authentic, high-quality dishes that highlight our love for Italian flavours.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook a variety of Italian-inspired dishes using fresh, local ingredients and our cheeses.
Assist with menu planning and daily specials, incorporating our cheese products creatively.
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure high-quality food presentation and timely service.
Assist with inventory management and ordering of ingredients when needed.
Stay updated on the latest trends in Italian cuisine and contribute ideas for new dishes.
Requirements:

Previous experience as a Cook, Chef, or in a similar culinary role.
Passion for Italian cuisine and experience working with specialty ingredients, especially cheese.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
Strong understanding of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.
Team player with excellent communication and time management skills.
Flexibility to work weekends
